I tried the claptons that came with the single recurve. Not sure if they're the same, but i thought that they were ok. I found that the flavor on mine came out with spaced claptons, such as staggered staple or juggernaut.

@gjshaw29 how did you like the claptons?
It doesn't hurt to try something else. Maybe use the experience you have with it to find something new, get you in the range of resistance, warmth of vape, flavor that you want.
If there is anything you didn't like with the clapton coils, try to find something that might eliminate those issues.

Thanks guys. Think I will try something else. Hoping one of my local shops sells pre-built coils. The coils I have in now are reading 0.14 on my mod, definitely like the vape I get off em
You could try a variety pack, that's how I narrowed down my preference.

Haha was just looking for a link for that. Pretty sure my favorite shop has this pack! Hope the mark up isn't that much hahaha, hoping to get some today. I need new toys to play with lol. Found this pack cheap on central vapers website.

You most certainly can play around with exotic coils and find your preference. Have at it!

I have a few of those variety packs although I didn't try all of them some the resistance was too low for me. Sounds like you will not have that problem.

I thought you used regulated mods? I regularly use coils in the 0.12 to 0.14 ohm range, and keep them below the 50w mark.

I do. The only time I vaped 80 watts was for a review. It was way not worse than I expected. The RTA portion of the dang 2 in one tank which had a dual coil postless deck for its RTA and some coil as an afterthought . The RTA was RATHER TASTY but I was scared it would turn me into A DL vaper and I can't have that. I save it for arguments with the husband a) he hates vape and b) we cannot see each other. It was fine, and part of it was making sure my nic and flavoring was low enough but it's pretty good.

I will say that was a rough review in many ways (LOL also my first video review) but I did learn A LOT.

I don't really love going below about 0.5 seems to be my sweet spot but yes, you can (and I do) vape lower wattage. I don't feel the need to shove what looks like barbed wire and has a resistance of 0.25 in my MTL setups, really.

I have a loose MTL rda I'm afraid of going lower than about 0.45 in, but Ill find a way yet.

So many choices.. but keep this in mind (fancy coils tend to have higher mass and slower ramp-up time (slower to heat up and also cool down) Sometimes that can backfire on you (in other words, simple can be better) Even "flat" (or rectangular) wire can work great. 24 ga round wire might even surprise you. I've never used "super fancy" coils but fused claptons are nice (two wire core)

I decided to try something new and bought 20ft of 2x(26-36) ni80 Juggernaut wire from Wotofo, but all I'm getting so far is massive spitback- tiny hot balls of liquid shooting from the coil in every direction. Unbearable, especially with wide 810 drip tips. I'm either doing something wrong or it's simply a crap wire pattern.

I only use 3 types coils, all NI80 and all fused claptons.

2*28 + 38
4*28 + 38
2*30 + 40

All depends on type of atomiser and style of vaping.
So far I had best results with fused claptons. I was also very happy with simple staircase coils (the ones I've got are 0.25ohm Kanthal from Mad Rabbit- can't find any info about what wraps they used)
