I have been dripping tail pipe style with M401/M402/M403 auto batts for nearly 1 year. The M40x auto batts last several months despite direct dripping.
The batts last until the paint has significant wear.
I have cleaned fouled batt pressure sensor with PGA through hole about 3 times.

I have 3 batts in my rotation for about 1 year.
One batt is weak and gives up after a short while.
2nd batt has medium performance.
3rd batt still working ok.

I am really impressed with the long life of the M40x series batts.

I rarely use my 510 because of its larger size.

Over the weekend i tore apart m40x batteries, and found something interesting. I think the reason for the m40x batteries working so well with dripping is the manufacturer simply put in a small gasket between the atomizer connector and any electronics! the way its put together, you would almost have to completely submerge the atty connector for a couple hours before any liquid gets to the battery or PCB's

I used to drip with my M40Xs but found that dipping the atomizer into liquid is much easier, especially when driving...the bridge takes as much juice as it needs, and little precision is needed, i use a plastic soda bottle cap.

As for dripping with automatic batteries, it should be fine, but every so often take off your atomizer and wipe down your battery threads, and check if any excess juice is making its way into the threads. If your finding excess juice every time, then you're probably dripping too much juice.

Any manual battery model is usually ok for dripping, as long as the battery terminal is sealed.
You can check this by looking at the battery thread and there should be either some sort of sealant/glue, or should be machined so that there is no airflow holes.

You also might want to state what model ecig your using, as tips vary slightly between models.
