Depends on what your looking for. If you want the small size the most looks like a typical cig the I would whole heartedly recommend the Volt from Smokeless image. Check them out, Im so glad thats the way I decided to go. Also they now have sealed batteries. If you decide to buy from them shoot me a pm. I have a discount code you can use.

I just got a provari last week and I love it. I started on july 12th with a 808 batt setup and graduated to an ego t setup four weeks later. A good friend of mine then made me a vv box mod in sept and I liked the power of having more voltage in my hands. I then bought the provari and don't think I need anything else. Looks great. Feels very sturdy. Easy digital screen that gives you exact voltage, batt life, and atty/carto ohm. Bought the extension cap to fit the 18650 batts and easily get 1.5 days from a fully charged batt. There will be other opinions but it is perfect for me.

The best one boils down to your preference I personally like the provari, some say Darwin. if you want something cheaper and don't mind wait a few months you could look into getting the lavatube. Its similar to the provari but its cheaper. You can check out this link Best e-Cig Mod List | e-Cig Mods Database it will show you some other options.

For the price, as MadJack said, you can't beat the Riva 510.

For $29.95 you can get a Riva 510 starter kit that contains two complete Riva 510 ecigs with 750mah batteries (5 to 6 hours heavy vaping between charges), a cone (dresses up the Ecig), and a charger, along with a nice leatherette box.

The Riva 510 is a 3.7v version of the Ego style ecig (3.4v). It will accept any accessory with a 510 thread. That opens up a multitude of options that you will see discussed here on ECF.

Click the 20% off icon at the top of the page to get the $29.95 price.

It's also available in a Boge carto version for $34.99. You get all the parts in the Riva 510 Lite Bundle along with 10 Boge 510 cartos (a $16 value by themselves).

Most people who ask "What is the best e-cig" don't want the best. The Darwin and Provari are generally considered the top two, but they are $200-$250 - and that's before you buy juice, or cartomizers/atomizer/tanks, etc. And for someone just starting, that's not what they want.

What most people *mean* when they say "What's the best" is "What is a good starting system".

The eGo, and various clone systems like the Riva and kgo, are what I'd recommend to someone starting out. I'm using an ego, very happy with it. My next step, having done a lot of reading and shopping and such, will be a Buzz Pro.

If I'd been told I needed a Buzz Pro or similar just to get started, I'd have walked away and never looked back. I'd have been thinking "Really, I'm supposed to spend $150 on that, and another $30 or more on juice, and then buy some extra batteries, and then I'll need whatever those cartomizer things are, and then lord knows what else. Over $200 to get started, and it probably won't be worth a dam? No thanks".

If you're really looking for the best, look at the Provari, the Darwin, the Buzz Pro, and the Reo.

If you're looking for a good starter system, look into the eGo and the various eGo clones.

I'd recommend staying away from anything that "looks like a cig, feels like a cig". Anything that is the size of a cig simply can't have a decent battery, can't hold much fluid, and isn't likely to make you happy. Almost everyone thinks, when they start "I want something that looks and feels like a cig", and the vast majority of people who start that way either quit vaping altogether, or learn that it isn't effective and go buy a bigger, better PV later.

I agree with your comments. Although there are probably a thousand+ new people who do spend $150+ at a mall kiosk for a vastly inferior cigarette sized model.

I think the E-Power 510 is a better option in the "eGo" category. Better batteries at a third of the cost.

As long as you don't smoke, *that* is a good one for you. After you have not smoked for a while, any of the high-end ones are cheap, compared to the cost of cigarettes. It's not like the 'big ones' cost you more per month to use. If you stop smoking, any initial cost will be quickly saved.

There is a false economy that sometimes goes on. Some people say "I could never spent big money for a PV", yet they own a dozen 510 batteries?
