I'm not trying to be "snarky" here in any way, but...you can drive yourself crazy trying to find the so-called "best mix" of some recipe. You really can't find it though...until you make it!

Really, what other people give high ratings, and/or call "the best mix", is based upon their own opinion of it, according to what their individual preferences are in a liquid. For every person who posts a positive review or rating...how many do you think maybe tried the recipe and hated it, but they just didn't post?

I'd recommend choosing one recipe that looks promising to you. Get the flavorings to make it, even just the smaller sample size vials or bottles. Then just jump right in and make a small sample yourself following the recipe. Using "Bill's 100 drop taste test" you can then tweak it to your own personal tastes...so you DO truly end up with "the best mix" for you! If you follow the steps for doing the test, and take notes on any changes you make to the original recipe as you do it, you'll then have a revised recipe that you can recreate in larger quantity anytime you want to. It will always be that same, wonderful, "best mix" that you made in that sample batch!

Here's a link to go read about it:

I use it myself for every new recipe I try out. Haven't had a single sample batch that's "been flushed". I've always ended up with a winner by doing the test!

I usually pick the best recipe I can find and mix it as directed. Usually, it will tell me to drop it or go forward and adapt it to my taste requirements. After a while some folks get to know which flavors tend to work at certain percentages and which blender is preferred for that flavor.
Trying to clone a purchased flavor can be problematic/frustrating and not worth the trouble. Best to find your own tailored best mix.
