So we all have the issue where we see a recipe that looks amazing, but there is always 1 or 2 that you do not have. So it got me thinking....of course you are going to order that flavor when you make your next order, and that's if you write it down or remember it by the time you have looked at 50 more recipes with flavors you need.

Well what if there was a site where you could go and check the boxes on all of the flavors you have and then press enter. Then it pulls up all (and only) the recipes that you can make right now.

Well, it was my idea, and hopefully someone can pull this together in the programing department and who designs software. I personally am a CAD Designer, but I do have 2 friends in particular that I will be running the idea off of and see if maybe it is something that we can put together. One is a software engineer and the other is a web designer, but they do not vape, so it wouldn't be instant passion as if it were one of us.......if you know what I mean. But I will be talking with them. So if you want to help, just add comments and links to all of the vendors and flavors. And any info you feal would be useful in creating this idea. I know I have seen excel sheets with just about every flavor there is, but I have to go looking for it in my 1500+ Favorites List. It would be nice to have all the info we needed to build the website in one place as a useful resource.

So that's my rant for the day. I look forward to the feedback.

Pretty sure this site does just that.
e-Liquid Calculator

yes I frequent this site often for recipes, but they do not have a section where you can check a box next to all the flavors in your arsenal. They do give recipes with vendor specific tho, which is great. I find the ECF by far to have the best resources for recipes. Thanks for the feedback.

I know a thing or two about this kind of stuff. The best guy would be the web guy you know or someone here. I am not a web dev but i manage them from time to time :)
it would just be running a MySQL DB with the proper interface built and table design. But to be honest, it would be quite a bit of work out of the gate to do it from scratch but very doable. it would be a nice add-on section for ECF to host ... hint hint :D

I am currently working on this. you will be able to store all your items in your "cabinet" you will be able to login and click search and it will show you everything you have 100% of the ingredients for, as well as recipes that you have 75%-99% of the ingredients to but it will alert you that you are missing items. you can add items to your cabinet from there if you actually do have them. people will be able to review your recipe you add and rate it. the format i was thinking was as follows

Name: Banana nut bread
Steep: 72 hours
Makes: 30ML

Nicotine 24MG (PG) - 20ML
(VG) - 5ML
BANANA CREAM (TFA) - 3ML
BLACK WALNUT (LA) - 1.5ML
VANILLA BUTTER NUT - 0.5ML

dont judge me on this recipe it was just an example i pulled out of the air.... it will work just like myfridgefood.com where you can favorite recipes to use later. When it is up i will need help putting in already known recipes since some people use %'s they will need to be put in the calculator and converted to actual measurements then added to the site. if you are interested please send me a private message

I am a retired techie NOT looking for a piece of this action. I agree that this is a very good idea and a much needed tool. I will support it where I can!

I kiss, cuddle, and cuss web sites for several of my clients. I have been doing this for about 15 years...

To that end, I have spare server space available and will donate space and access to this project. I will set you up a cPanel account using your url (domain name) for free. I will provide this for at least 6 months, or until it it so successful that it needs it's own space. This will have a reasonable amount of storage and bandwith. SQL as well as (every) other feature/tool you should need.

Get hot on this and let me know when I can assist you. PM details...

I have server space already so it isnt an issue. this is all being coded from scratch as there are no good reverse recipe scripts out there to the open market. I will hopefully have the initial version rolled out in 14 days and then will be making tweaks on it once it is live and we start inputing recipes to the database. I will need help from forum users to get these recipes into the database when the time comes.

if im not mistaken i think the juice calculator that hotrod made does this by using what you have in your inventory , i never tried it but i use it for my recipes
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/diy-e-liquid/480587-new-calculator-try.html

yes but it does it only for recipes you saved. what we are talking about is a collection of everyones recipes. because right now i have a mixture of flavors from other recipes i tried now i have no idea what to do with, but on the website if i say i have all these flavors it will show me all recipes that i could make with them as well as a few recipes that i might be missing just one flavor to make.

Looks good but I would like to see the recipe with flavor percentages then its easier to make the ml you want. IMHO

Banana Nut Bread
Steep Time: 72 Hours
Flavoring: 10%
BANANA CREAM (TFA) - 60%
BLACK WALNUT (LA) - 30%
VANILLA BUTTER NUT - 10%

right now its not going to be a calculator to make liquids their are too many of those out there. its going to be a place to get your recipes to put in your calculator. so i wont have to worry about your nicotine and pg vg ratio. but authors of recipes will have a spot to put in details of the mix so they can say i found this tastes best with a 80/20 mix or what not.

If one of you end up doing this and releasing it into the wild, I have one suggestion/request:

Make a standard way of listing the brand of flavor by people who submit recipes. The one site that I've seen that kind of does this doesn't have a standard and it makes, say, TFA vs TPA or Cap vs Capella show up differently. If there were a uniform standard used, it would be so much easier. If you say you have TFA caramel, you miss out on all the recipes that contain TPA caramel, even though they're the same thing.

One of my biggest pet peeves on recipes in general is when it's posted by flavor name only with no brand. Even new at this I'm already noticing flavor brands for the same particular flavor are not necessarily interchangeable.
