I just got pointed to diyrecipebook yesterday. Truthfully, I was looking for something more generic. Let's say I have caramel, but I don't care which caramel. I had to be specific to my flavor brand, and not all of them were on the flavor listing. Dycero, I want to check out your site!

And, because the recipes are flavor-specific, I don't think I got as many recipe offerings as are out there....

Sent from.... ooh look! Something shiny!!!

Dycero, I'm glad to hear you are continuing this project. If you need help with testing I'd be more than happy to do that. I develop Business Intelligence Applications for a living but I am not a web coder. I really like your idea and your approach. Feel free to private message me or post here if I can help. Thanks fro doing this project!

that diyRecipeBook website does not let you do what we are trying to attempt. There is no section where you can put in your own inventory and search for recipes based on that information. Have others checked this site out and experienced this? I am trying to see if by somehow, there is a section that I am completely overlooking or something along those lines?

You're not looking very hard if you missed it.

First of all you register an account. Once you do that and log in, you look at the top banner and click "inventory". which brings you to a form where you can input your flavors from the listing pull down of the various manufacturers flavors.

After you've saved your inventory, you click the "recipes pull down menu and select "Search" and it will display a listing of recipes you can make based on your inventory.

The list also shows recipes which you have only some of the flavors needed, with a column showing "your percent of the flavorings".
IE: If the recipe needs five flavorings, and you only have four of them in your inventory, the column shows that you have 80% of them.

There is also a learn more button and a faq on the site which will help you if needed.

Also the site is ran by an ECF member... Here is his contact info...
pm ianferrell on ECF or diyrecipebook .at. gmail

Another thing I noticed recently on that site. On some of the recipies it shows "created by" where it displays the handle of the person who made the recipe. People entering recipes, as an additional option, can also enter a link to the thread where that recipe was discussed or published originally.

In other words on some of the recipes you can click the recipies created by name and it will take you to the thread page here on ECF where it had originated. This is very handy when researching some of these recipes.

Dycero - Can't wait to see your site! Been looking for something like this! Thanks for all your hard work!

I've been trying to check out the diyrecipebook site but I can't seem to get verified. I tried to PM ianferrell here on ECF but it wouldn't let me...maybe I'm too much of a newbie??? I also haven't heard back yet from my email, but it's only been 2 days. Patience has never been one of my strong suits!
