Google: jkuro voltage drop. He has done some decent amount of test on mods and some of them clones.

To test the mod all you actually need to....
I was going to say measure the ohms; but if it is in the 10 milliohm region I suppose measure voltage drop may be the practical way to do it; you'd need a standard reference load and I guess a 1 ohm load would be the logical standard.

Trini!!!

Really?

I lived there for 5 years. Out of 13 countries I have been to, Trinidad was by far my favorite.

Of course, Mt Irving in the right time of year was firing...

Yup! You're pretty well travelled; oil industry I bet;
crime rate here has just been going up and up for the last 2 decades though; and gawd the traffic..

Kinda sorta.

Electronics, both coms and power gen.

Rigs use both in vast quantities.

I hate to hear the crime rate is going up...I was there until 2002, and it was still great. As long as you didn't go somewhere stupid(about two places I think), and do something stupid, you were fine.

I so miss Toco.

Traffic was bad then, but if you rode with Alan Davis you got there damfast anyways.

The new copper stingrays i would assume have the lowest drop considering their phantom brass held the title up until copper came into the picture.

I just got the infinite stingray cone mod (18650) and its reading .1 voltage drop. Im def. happier than my panzer clone mod or the Smoktech magneto which are about .4 voltage drop.

Infinite and HCigar's black copper stingrays were the best I found. I use HCigar's version cause I like the solid tube better but my shop sells infinite and it's awesome .

Good to see some folks pointing out the particulars in regards to v drops.

So much goes into it it's almost arbitrary.

Then you go and put an atty on it, and there's another link in the chain.

If you have any kind of RBA, you can build to overcome v drop anyways. I never really saw the point, unless it's absolutely terrible, as in some of the side button mods.

A point of reference, I suppose.

Put a .06 build on a brand new k100 and watch as the button burns your finger, or do it on a m16, or any other mod with ....ty v drop.. your theory makes sense until we get that low and then you really need low voltage drop... especially seeing the curve of voltage drop at higher loads.. personally I acquire only the best, low v drop mods to appease my cloud chasing desires.

Oh lord, take the extreme end of an example to prove a point i wasnt making.
Heck, you could say the same thing about a brass Bay City mod with dirty contacts.
Look up the difference in conducivity between copper, silver, and 316 SS.
The worst, the 316, registers less than .00016 of an ohm drop per meter.
That equates to less than .004 v drop per METER.
If a mod has vdrop, its more likely to be the atty, the battery, or dirty contacts than the mod itself.
If it is the mod, its either the switch, a crappy spring(which is a stupid thing to use as a conductor), or its dirty.
Also, a .2v drop equates to about 5 watts at .3 ohms. Not much.
The thing is, the lower the res, the higher the internal resistance of the battery.
For all intents and purposes, in the real world, changing your battery has more effect than changing mods(assuming halfway decent mods to start with)
