DIYFlavorShack also sells kits. I got one of them because I also wanted the tackle box to keep everything in. Only challenge: it comes already stuffed pretty full! Some things you might not find useful at first - but later you might be glad you have them... Dawn custom-mixes some tasty juice which you might want to try while you get started mixing.

OneStopDIYShop not only sells kits, they're great for a la carte items you might need after you get the hang of mixing (such as a pipette pump) and they also carry an extensive range of flavorings from three different companies.

Both suppliers have been very good to me.

The hardest thing is picking the flavors for your first order! It's difficult to recommend anything specific for someone just starting vaping - there is a lot of personal preference involved, and you have to find out what you like along the way. Your tastes may change over time. But being able to DIY juice (or adjust pre-made juice you might have bought) is a great way to explore flavors and find out what you need in larger quantity. I started DIY when I was a new vaper too, it's a great adventure!

Also check out the DIY section of ECF for lots of information and help.

+1

I started my e-cig adventure with DIYFlavorShack's DIY kit (not counting the "trial" e-cig I purchased 1st at a tobacco shop). I started out with DIY (I don't currently use any mixing liquid higher than 48 mg tho). Ordered a bunch of flavors to mix up and it was a great way to keep me busy while going through the transition from analogs. The tackle box packed full of stuffis was great. More stuffis than I needed, but I didn't know that at the time.

However, now there's a warning:

You can get items separately. I liked supporting a vendor and their DIY "kit" idea tho. DIYFlavorShack was great to me. OneStopDIYShop is a good source of supplies too. I've used both for e-juice supplies and can recommend both.

I would say if anyone wants to start DIY-ing, use 36 mg juice (48 mg at most to start) to cut.... and get a bunch of flavorings, some PG, VG and a tackle box. Pipettes are handy, as well as some bottles to mix in. Let it age a few days for best results. Look for DIY supply sales to get a good price on the nic-juice. Great way to play with your preferred PG/VG ratios too. If you know your standard nic level, you can just buy double strength and cut it in 1/2 with PG/VG/flavor. Easy, saves money, let's you adjust it.

I like One Stop DIY Shop , their kits are good but I preferred syringes to pipettes, so I did mine ala carte. Do go to walmart or somewhere and pick up a tackle box to keep your diy stuff in, it is easier to mix when things are organized plus keeps things in a safer environment. If you have any questions just ask kim on onestop's forum, she is very helpful and always sends some free surprises with every order.

I'm not downing the kit, but I didn't think it was for me. One thing is that it isn't really a lot of unflavored nicotine for long term. One store I noticed sells single pairs of gloves marked up 700%. I did my first little DIY batch (most of my flavors didn't arrive yet) and the gloves were trashed with sticky VG. I don't think you want to be reusing them more than at least a few times. I got a box of 100 with a printer cartridge order for about $5. They are like $10 tops other places.

I started writing out a little guide/questions I had myself but my browser ate it. I ended up finishing my orders on my own, but I will try to write out a guide sometime. If you have questions for right now OP and you decide to go that route I will try to help.

OnestopDIYshop has a better deal $/ml on samples of PA flavors than PA itself. What I did was breakdown all the flavors I wanted to try into ones I really wasn't sure about, versus those I was pretty sure I would end up using more, like coffee. There is a 20% off code at ecigexpress.com (HOLIDAYFLAVOR). They have a much better deal on PA stuff in 30ml. It costs a little more in actual dollars, but if you feel that you will actually get into DIY it seems worth it.

I'm also working on a complete redo of the spreadsheet of who has what flavors and giving them a sort of taxonomy. The way it is organized now has similar types of flavors all mixed up. I really don't think anyone needs to be considering Bickford or LorAnn for first orders.

Here's a little preview of my price comparison to give you an idea. I hope there is no errors because I was reworking it and it isn't done. If anyone has suppliers that are worth adding to the list, please tell me. I don't know who has the best deal on nic juice now because gourmet vapors 40% off is over I believe.

Here is a great thread about this subject. I too would argue against the pre-made kits, and suggest that you put your own kit together.
