I am looking to get one good mod as my first step away from Ego's and twists. I want a somewhat "beefy" tube style, but still pocket friendly.

VV/VW is preferred, but not required. I want to be able to screw on a tank that I don't need to build coils for. (yet) I will be learning that before long, but for now I want grab and go convenience, but with good vaping.

Let me see pictures, and links to where to buy if possible. Mod and tank combo ideas please! :vapor:

As was said if you don't want to build coils you are better to stick with a vv/vw device. Lots of choices out there in the sub-$100 range. SVD, MVP 2, VTR, Tesla, eVic, SID, etc.... Some are good. Some have their issues. But for $60 more I would go with the Provari and be done with it. Also take into consideration beyond the price of the MOD you need to take into consideration batteries and a good charger. That will add anywhere from $30 - $50 to the cost.

Best bang for the buch right now is the MVP 2. It is a box MOD but has a built-in rechargeable 2600mAh battery. has vv, vw, ohm meter, battery meter and is very pocketble and durable.

Pick up a well priced MVP or VTR, or a Sigeli 20W mod. The Provari is an excellent mod as well, but will run you over budget.

As said, the Mod doesn't have anything to do with coils. If you want a mech, you should really get into RDAs. You could put a carto/clearo on a mech, but it wouldn't perform as well as a VV/VW device. Mechs perform best with RDAs/RBAs.

Not that much of a noob here! ;) That's exactly what I meant by grab and go. I am using ProTanks and Vivi's so I wanted to stick with those for now, and venture into mechs and RDAs down the road. There really is no "budget" but I just don't want to go overboard on one, because I know there will be many more to come. I am thinking the Provari is the way I am going to go. Everyone seems to have at least one Provari as their go-to for everyday use.

The Segelei 20w is a good looking APV though! Is Provari better by far?

And I know the batteries are a seperate purchase all together, I just set the $100 range for the mod itself.

LIke Mr P said.. Provari, If you get into rebuilding then Reo and RM2 atty. ProVape E-Cigarettes: Buy Electronic Cigarettes & Vapor Smokeless Cigs or reosmods.com
The only 2 companies I recommend.. Get quality and you wont have to keep looking every month or so for something newer..

Agree here.. I spent cheap money on mods and the longest they ever lasted was a year.. most of the time it was a few months.. I broke down and bought a provari and I wish I had done it a lot sooner..

spend the extra $ and get yourself a high quality mod.. you won't be disappointed!

You won't be able to use a protank/vivi at 20watts so it really is pointless to get it for that reason.. I would agree with others to say provari would be the best choice

EDIT: and yes, Provari is better than Segelei

I have used a Provari and while they are nice I am a VW person, it's just more consistent for me.

I went with the Segelei 20W and have been very happy with my choice. I can use tanks and drip down to .6 ohms. It's been a solid unit and the second most used PV after my REO.

I don't know if it is better then a Provari but I used both and went with the Segelei

I must be reading the OP much differently than everyone else. I see a request for a current device (mod) and atomizer for $100 that will provide a good vape that doesn't require rebuilding.

Toppers: Nautilus, Aerotank or newer mega Aerotank (holds about as much as Nautilus). Price, including 5 pack of replacement heads $30 - $50

Mod: MVP V2.0, SID, Vamo, any number of other $30 - $50 priced vv/vw mods. Add in a decent IMR battery or two. Cost $40 - $70.

Charger: If the OP is moving up from eGo type devices, will require a decent 2 bay charger. $20

So obviously a Provari isn't even close price wise.

Agreed! The itaste SVD is another good one under $100 even if you get the kit that comes with the iclear 30's. If you just want the tube you can find it for around $60. The iclear 30's may not be the newest topper but I've found them to be consistent and low maintenance.

Wasn't trying to imply that you were a noob.

There are people who will probably argue both ways. I will just say that I have almost never heard of a defective Provari. If you can afford to spend the money on it, it will be a great device. The warranty is where it really shines, where as the Sigeli, you may have some trouble getting it repaired/replaced if something goes wrong. How much that is worth is up to you.

"Beefy"

itaste 134.

But it only goes up to 12.5 watts - which actually is probably enough for me forever.

But the e-Huge I think is a better buy; but it takes 26650 battery though; that's BEEFY>

I have 2 evics and while they are great for 'at home devices' they are HUGE for on the go.. a provari mini is much easier to carry around in your pocket (get the extension cap so you can use a bigger battery if needed)

I love my evic, but its not a great device unless I'm at home.. with a protank on top the thing is way too long imo.

I am really leaning towards the Provari now, but 2 others I want your opinions on. The eVic by Joyetech, and the Innokin ITaste 134. Pros and cons of either compared to the Provari. I am ordering something tonight. I'm sick of deciding... hahaha!

Don't discount the Tesla. It isn't as widely popular as the SVD, MVP or others. But this thing is a tank. I researched heavily before buying it and found no reoccurring issues like some others have. Tops out at 15w. I had it in my mind that I was going to buy a Provari, but because I am out on disability and fighting a Workman's Comp battle I decided to put it off until next year.

Here is the Tesla. This is in black. It is also available in silver. I bought mine for $44.95 shipped.

Oh and I also own an MVP which is a completely different form factor but also a tank. Many say it the Provari for the budget minded because of features and vape quality.

The evic features on-board charging! You can plug in to charge your battery instead of taking the battery out to charge on a separate charger.
The evic can also be programmed from your computer.

The 134 only goes up to 12.5 watts ; it starts out at 6.5 watts too, so limited in range; many others go from 3 to 15 watts.
The 134 also doesn't have vv as an option; it vw only.

The provari is 510 thread only; and it's vv only, no vw; but good warranty. And flat dc output.
