Nothing wrong starting off with a vamo or sid. You need to buy a good charger and 18650's etc. That's another $30-50 but then you won't have to worry about buying that stuff when you get a more high end mod.

The nice thing about vamo/sid price points is that you can beat on them and not worry too much. They perform very well too. The best stealth vape vv/vw device I know of is the itaste 3.0. I have 2 of those and love them when on my feet and out and about. Bigger mods are always heavy because of the batteries and metal tubes that go with them.

Geez, folks, at least pay a LITTLE attention to what the guy says he wants in his mod! I had similar criteria when I was upgrading from egos, and I ended up getting first an iTaste MVP, then later a Smoktech SID. The SID is probably closer to what you are looking for, as you said you wanted your device to go to 6v and the MVP only goes to 5v, though they MAY have changed that with the MVP2. I got my SID from Tropical Vapors, was $45 with a coupon code I found here on ECF. I'm happy with both these mods, though I must say, I bought the SID as a back up for the MVP, but it quickly took over as my main device. Not for nothing, the SID is on pbusardo's list of recommended hardware. Just sayin'.

Imho.... Best mod for under 100 $

Smoktech magneto and rsst or an igo
Even smoke natural and the agi

Bolth are mech mods, I prefer mechs because I vape at 3.7 v anyway so why not have a mod that will not break or short right
Bolth arE verRy thick stianless steel and durAble
And with 18650 will last all day

Bolth are the best mech mods you can get without getting on a list or tooling around in the want adds bolth are verry well made for the price and worth every penny
Sigelli makes a exact clone of the natural for around 20$

Save for a provari or you will hate yourself for getting something you hate

Why is it when someone specifically states either they don't want or don't have over $100.00 to spend on a APV people still find the need to keep telling them to get a Provari! I seriously doubt the OP is going to hate himself for not spending $150 - $200 or more on a Provari especially when it was made clear he didn't want to spent that much. Why not just buy one for him, hell get one for me also! Post like that are not beneficial considering the fact that he's know what he wants to spend....

rounding third and heading home...
sigelei zmax v3 or v5 telescoping flat top. well made, solid, takes any battery size. i have many others by now but I still use it everyday. never regretted not getting something more expensive at the time....of course this vaping monkey has made me spend a lot more since..... do provari owners even read the threads when someone says they want something besides a provari? or are you required to suggest ,tell, and demand everyone buy one after you purchase one? I get that you LOVE it, but not everyone wants or needs one- do you know how overbearing it is to bring it up EVERY time someone asks for advice for a less expensive mod. just can't help yourselves can ya?

If.bb your looking for vv and vw go for the itaste mvp

I bought one when ghey came out, the original with only vv and the puff counter . And its still going strong !

The new I taste mvp has vv and vw and will read ohms !

The batery lasts all day its li ion 2600 mah and is built in and can be charged usb port and has passthrough
Also it has a usb output witch you can use to charge your phone or tablet ... At firat I thought it was stupid and usless untill that is I found myself charging my dead phone at work with it every other day ....lol nlw I dont leave my house with out it
It can also take a beating trust me and I have owned it for a year and the battery showes little sign of deterioration . Still holds a good charge

There are lots of good choices, and while many say they want a PV that will go up to 6v, probably less than 1% will turn it up to 6v more than once. Many will try it to see what it's like, most will go "OUCH" when they do. (there are of course exceptions)

The guy says he doesn't want to fork out the money for a Provari, and people start recommending the Provari.

    I don't get it.

Anyway, good, entry level mods that meet what you're looking for are the SVD, the Vamo, the MVP and the Zmax. You can't go wrong with any of those and all are within your budget. I don't recall anyone with one of those saying that they hated it.

I wish I would have read the replies before my post, thank you, at least I am not the only one that cannot for the life of me understand why this keeps happening, I have to wonder if it is a matter of reading comprehension or what. Every post that I have ever gone into from someone asking for a mod that is less than $100.00 it never fails that someone keeps coming out with "Get a Provari"! There is absolutely wrong in getting one if that's what you want and you have the funds to put out on one, but there are people who do not or just simply don't want to. This helps no one at all and when others go in to find the same information as they have similar wants or needs get slapped in the face with those posts..

I would just get a vamo 1st to see if you even like the larger tube mod style. Some people really love the size/feel of the twist over a larger mod. If you like it then you can either get another for a backup or use the twists as your backup. If the Provari ends up calling your name later then you already have a mod that will satisfy your needs while you save up. If not then you will be set on the cheap. Good luck no matter what you choose :)

I picked up a sentinel clone at Vapecan from one vendor for $15. I got it so I could cannibalize it for the button and the cap.
I made the mistake of trying it before I cannibalized it.
Darned thing works so well that I can't bring myself to do that now. Ordering several more from Fasttech now.
Best cheapie device I have ever tried.

Good advice. Keep in mind that when you're going from an Ego you're also going to have to purchase good quality batteries and a charger as well.

I hear ya on that. I've never gone above 4.5 on my MVP. I use VW mode on my SID, usually around 8 or 8.5, not really sure where that works out voltwise (I know it varies with the resistance of your topper). I was mostly talking about the folks recommending the mods that were out of the OP's stated price range.

If I was going vv/vw I would go with the vamo, for price and has all the features, as said before, you will have to figure in some batterys and charger. Innokin SVD would also be in my choice, as it would have all the main features. The MVP would be a good choice, a couple less options on what the device will do, but don't have to buy batteries or chargers to start off with.

Mechs....Soooo many options, the EHPRO EA Clone is a very solid good performer, K100, KTS, sig#8, so many options, would just have to kinda figure out if you want a bottom firing button or side button/top button firing device. Yet again, you must get batts and chargers for those also.

All in all The Itazte MVP is a really good step up for 50$ and gives you some room for tanks, juice and misc stuff.
I know you want to upgrade from ego's, but twist's/spinners etc, are always a good solid choice to have around.

Good Luck in your purchase, doesn't really matter what you get first, as you will be back for more :)

I have a vamo 2 gold and it was my upgrade from the ego spinner type. It has some issues most notably the centre firing pin pushed into the body and the 2mm chasm that is left when fitting an non ego type thread. I'm now looking into the Tesla as it has a floating firing pin on a spring so wont get pushed into the body of the mod. I've yet to find enough information from the forum about it but i've been a bit busy. Don't get me wrong the Vamo has been a good step up and is ideal for me as i make and rebuild my own coils. Therefore some of the features on it are just the job for me. But if i had known about the gap and subsequent firing pin issues i think i would have chosen something different with an ohm meter. Hence the interest in the Tesla
