Hey all, I am looking to purchase a mod in the next couple of days. I would like it to be:

-Under $100 to get started (PV, batteries, and Charger, NOT INCLUDING juice, cartos, etc)
-Able to vape at higher voltages. Doesn't necessarily have to be variable voltage, but I'd like to be able to do some 6v vaping
-Portable (relatively easy to fit in pocket and take places, etc)
-Durable

Right now I am considering:
-Maxi Roughstack V2
-Indulgence V3
-Infinity Pro (IPro) - a bit more than I'd like to spend
-LavaTube - also a bit more than I'd like to spend
-Silver Bullet

I was just wondering if there were any other models that people know of that fit my criteria and I should be considering, and I was also hoping to hear feedback from people that have owned some of these devices.

Thanks!
-Jordan

Silver Bullet would be at the top of that list, but the under $100 with batteries and charger is going to be tough... You might be able to pull it in under $115 if you order your batteries and charger from DealExtreme.com, though. The Ultrafire WF-188 can do both 3.7v (your 18650) or 3v (your RCR123As for 6v vaping). I've got a LavaTube (kind of. It arrived defective so I'm in the middle of the return process) and while it seems to be a decent mod I wouldn't rely on it as my main vaping device. Infinity Pro is an excellent device, but you're definitely talking more than $100 with 3 sets of batteries and a charger. Indulgence V3 is fail from everything I've heard. Roughstack is a decent device, but I still think you're better off with an SB.

I gotta' agree with Chaos. The SB for under $100. Less problems than most. The Rough Stack, rather Maxi RS, is okay, but the switch goes bad quickly, especially if your juice gets into the casing. Which it does if you over drip or over fill, and the new switches don't always fit or function.

Thanks for telling us about the Indulgence V3, was thinking of one for work, but tired of spending $30 here, $30 there, for a weeks worth of a mod working. Better off to save for something a bit better.

Let me put it this way: I've owned almost every mod out there. I currently own a GGTS, the most advanced (and expensive) mechanical mod out there. I still use my SB pretty regularly.

Well that is quite telling! I think you may have just sold me with that quote! :)

So, just to clarify, the SB is OK to use for both 3.7v and 6v vaping? I ask b/c on the altsmoke site it mentions not to stack batteries.

I didn't realize that the $84.99 listed on the site was only for the PV and didn't include batteries, charger, or any other additions. It looks like with the PV and a few backup batteries/charger this may be exiting my price range. At that point, the price difference b/w the IPro vs the SB is getting pretty slim, am I right? At that point, would you still recommend the SB, or would you suggest the IPro if it is only ~$20 more?

$100 isn't an absolute, just what I would like to keep it around. I would say $130 is about my absolute max for this purchase

SB is a quality mod.......not pocket friendly unless you're auditioning for something:) May I recommend Kens Boxmods
Ken is a standup guy with quality products:) I'd recommend the big brother or Little sister vari cool vv mods:) I use the Lil Sis as my at work mod cause it's sooo tiny and lightweight and packs a punch. At home I use Provari's. The Big Bro would have better batt life.....but I've not used it . The LS is the size of a Bic lighter.........happy shopping:)

I still recommend the SB. Proven quality and endurance. I know you have to buy batts and a charger if you don't have them, but you will need that with any of the mods. It is fine to vape it at 6v, everyone does. Altsmoke advises against it as a CYA thing about stacking batteries. You can buy batts and chargers on other sites than e-cig vendors a bit cheaper sometimes.

You may just want to google something like this:

issues with Silver Bullet

issues with Ipro

Or whichever mod you are looking at.

or just click into the subdirectories here for each vendor and go back a few pages. Then you will know what you like best.

that's an interesting pick bjannr. I think I might have to do some research on that; the "two-chamber" design is intriguing. This is the model you are referring to, no? http://www.vapage.com/Vapage_V_MOD_XL_p/vpk-0245xl.htm

This is the first time I have heard of this model. Has it been around long? Any idea on quality, durability, etc? Also, do you know if it can handle 6v?

yes 6v ok'ed, i just got it yesterday, its a great entry point with the 25% off coupon. vmod xl works better with button top batteries or if you use flat top batteries, get a magnet spacer... so you dont have to depress the button all the way down...

I just noticed the "bottom-feeder" feature. I'm not familiar with this feature.

So basically, you put your juice in that bottle which is integrated into the PV, and instead of dripping onto the atomizer or into the cartomizer, you just squeeze the bottle and it feeds juice to the atomizer/cartomizer?

I wish this model had been around a bit longer so I could find out more about its durability/reliability. On sale for $75 with battery/cartos/atomizers included and 25% off on top of that seems like a pretty awesome deal

Well..I just ordered a SB so that in and of itself ought to sway you...lol:laugh:

Seriously though...been vaping for 14 moths +/- and have done/had the egos and rivas (very good for what they are) and I have 2 maxi Roughstacks. Love my Maxis....great workhorses that don't mind being abused, and yeah, they kinda have a switch thing going on but still...the maxi rs will always hold a special place in my vaping heart.

Ordered a SB for 2 reasons. #1...when I first started vaping and coveting all the cool mods that everyone posted pics of, the Sb caught my eye and Never let it go. #2...I have read and read and read reviews, pros/cons and whatever about the SB and the only negative thing I ever found about it was that with the recessed switch it tends to roll. I am currently designing/fabricating "kick stands" for the SB while awaiting its delivery. "Pop the stand..park your Bullet"....I think I might be looking at my Bahamas vacation home right there...

I know It's a tough decision. Prior to ordering my SB I had at least 3 others in the mix...all beautiful...all special...all will probably one day be mine. Maybe this will help. No matter what you opt for now..in a short time you'll be eyeballing a new one so don't sweat it.

Hope that whatever you choose turns out to be the perfect PV for you. Good luck and chime.in again and let everyone know what you decided.

Looks like a knock-off BB from altsmoke........

The BB takes a 14500. The bolt has a larger diameter and takes an 18500. I'm pretty sure they both have the same horn switch, but so does the triple-v and a couple of others.

Mentionable: CCV has the bolt as well. I am a madvapes fan and they've treated me right. CCV includes a battery (no charger) with the bolt and has a lower price for the moment.

I almost ordered another after seeing that....that is beautiful...can't wait for mine

You hitting that at 6 volt or 3.7?..and what carto and who's tank.

I'm doing 6 volt on my maxi with 1.7 dualies and a homemade syringe tank mod. Thinking when this pretty chrome SB arrives I might have to invest in a "mainstream" tank that doesn't look so ghetto..
Side note...day 20 on this smoketech(sp) dual coil in the tank...the flavor train started to leave the station a few days ago, but the vapor train on this 20 day carto is blowing me away. Going to ride this train till the wheels fall off and see where I land.
