My husband and I started vaping about a month and a half ago, and are true converts. We love it and tell as many people as we can about it. Last night after dinner, we thought we'd stop in at a bar for a drink and ask if we could smoke e-cigarettes in there. The bartender said yes, the owner smokes e-cigarettes, too. So, we pulled out our pvs and started puffing away. We got a lot of looks, but nothing hostile--it's a pretty pro-smoking crowd at this bar. You can't smoke inside (naturally, it's California), but there is always a huge group of smokers hanging out by the front door.
So, first thing... This scary, thugg-y looking guy comes over and asks us if those are pvs. Turns out his grandma just quit smoking (3 PAD!) using a pv. He hugs us, we offered congratulations to his grandma, he congratulated us, hugged us again, and next thing you know, everybody wants to know about them. We were like instant celebrities!
I noticed the owner sitting at the end of the bar with an intermittent green light showing through his hand (my first vaper in the wild spotting!), so I went over to ask him what he was vaping. Turns out it was a Green Smoke, and he had never seen anything like my eGo setup. He said the Green Smoke was working for him, but took me in the back to talk to his wife. He wanted her to switch, too, but she said they hurt her throat. I told her about customizing VG/PG ratios and wrote the web address for this forum on a cocktail napkin for her. Later, I found a stack of cards in my purse for The Vapor Room (with a 10% off code!), and gave her one of those, too.
All told, I think I ended up referring at least 10 people to ECF and giving out all the Vapor Room cards I had. (It's not that I think TVR is the very best, but those were the cards I had on me. We got our starter kits there, and have had very solid experiences with them. We have ordered from several different vendors and have had nothing but good experiences dealing with any of them. Next time I plan to vape very publicly, I'll try to throw an assortment of vendor cards in my purse--but vendors, take note, I do think having a discount code on the card means that new people will be more likely to buy!)
Anyway, I wanted to share my experience with a great night of vaping in public!
