I have no idea what model your is and I suspect most members here don't hence no answers. But here is some general passthru info for you. Perhaps using the Google search from the main forum header instead of the forum search for "passthru PR101" and "passthrough PR101" will turn up some info that's buried in all the info that's in this forum.

Some general passthru info for you. They come in 1 or 2 designs. Either with an actual battery or without.

Those without a battery run the atomizer at a higher voltage. They apply the 5V from the USB port directly to the atomizer which means it burns hotter. Many people feel that the higher voltage means the vape tastes better, some don't. The atomizer requires about 1000ma to work so a current limited or a just to spec USB port or power adapter will not provide enough current since the spec specifically limits current draw to 500ma. So you may not be able to use your computer port to run the passthru. You can purchase 1000ma or better power adapters.

The passthru with a battery works differently. It uses the USB power to charge the battery and then applies the battery power to the atomizer. So the atomizer runs at the same voltage it does with a normal battery. The passthru can charge the battery from just the normal 500ma so any USB port or power adapter should work. It won't work correctly at first, you must wait for the battery to charge. Once the battery is charged you can use the passthru without being plugged into a USB port although the battery doesn't last as long as a normal battery.

I have a Premium PR101 similar to the KR808 D
I am wondering what is the best Pass through for me to get? and Can you not use these if you buy your own juice and fill the Cartomizers?
I am such a noob.. sorry in advance.. for being so no nothing.. I am trying..

My pass-thru is from V4L, based on the kr808. These are used instead of a battery. It doesn't matter if you fill the cartos or buy them prefilled. I don't know what supplier you bought yours from, but your supplier probably has a subforum on the last part of this ECF forum as well; try posting your supplier brand specific questions there, as they know their product line better, I would say. Welcome to vaping :).

You can get a passthru for less than $25. Only caveat is the high power requirement so you may need to also get a power adapter. I'd argue its still simpler than using any battery based device if you're in front of a computer all day long. You'll never have to worry about charging batteries.

Having said that a big battery based PV is nice for plenty of other reasons so you may want to get both a passthru and the Chuck (or any other mod).

The Bat1, I have the same question as you. I still can't find an answer, lol. I want to use my powerstrip not my computer for the passthrough (I still haven't ordered one as I am too confused).

If you read this, please let me know how your situation is going. If anyone has an answer for a person (me) that does not understand the basic language of electricity and such please feel free to comment. LOL

most passthru's are USB powered, and will not plug directly into a powerstrip. if you want to use a passthru on a powerstrip you will need an AC converter/transformer to USB, to plug the passthru into.
for instance there are several powered USB hubs that will provide enough power to heat up a passthru, and plain transformers at a few merchants. some passthru's come with them too like from vaprlife.com, hope that helps a little

My powerstrip has a USB port on it for power. Is there a chance of damaging the passthrough by using it?

it is possible to damage one, but i am speaking of my 808 VK PT, too much can damage it.
USA built passthru are much less susceptible to too much power.

at this point you need to check the rating of the strip to see if it is rated at 5V 2amps max for the USB output but it also needs to be MORE than 1.5amps minimum. there should be a label on the strip that will tell you this info.:2cool: 1amp will NOT do.
