Savoir-Faire is everywhere!
The vape shop my wife manages has discontinued carrying the nautilus tanks, claiming a near 90% return rate, usually because of leaks, and one or two that have burned up inside. I've seen the stack of returned units.

The Aerotank Mega is the current champ, in terms of satisfied customers at the store. My wife vapes on a Mega exclusively. I tried to turn her on to a kayfun lite, but it only lasts a day or so before the Mega is sitting back on her MVP.
Does that data include the new new Aspire BDC coil heads? People are giving favorable reviews on the new coils, not the old.

Honestly, I couldn't say. The Nautilus was the only Aspire tank they carried and they've stopped ordering them because of the hassle.
The coil head would make all the difference since that is where most of the problems stem from, at least in MY experience with clearos.

Well, I only have an aerotank mini and a protank 3 mini but since I started rebuiling the heads, it has been: fill, vape, refill, vape for days now. No leaks, no gurgles, no dry hits and very good consistent performance.

Of course, since I love tinckering and love doing coils, I would like to try out a Kayfun. Not sure Which is the Best but I'm tending towards a mini v2.1 because I like the look of it.

Regards, Tony

I picked up an Aspire Nautlius Mini with the vertical coils....

It delivers flavor much better then the old coils which were used in the Nautilus tank, great vapor production and no gurgling....

You can also use these coils on the older, larger Nautilus tanks, but I was only able to find the Nautilus Mini (which comes with two coils), couldn't find the replacement pack for just the coils.

These things work great! Check out Grimm Greens YouTube review... he raves about them, and he's right.

What is it? I don't think I want to try rebuilding right now. But I'm looking for the highest quality tank out there. One with replaceable atomizers. I want quality!! No burnt hits atleast not for a long time and limited gurgling and of course after taking all the obvious precautions to prevent burnt hits and gurgling in the first place. Right now I have an aerotank v2 with their new version replacement atomizers. I had the nautilus I really liked it but I think it was defective after trying several replacement attys in it and making sure everything was nice and tight it still leaked like crazy.

I believe you're looking for the Holy grail of tanks. it has come to my conclusion that ALL tanks either leak or gurgle to some extent. There are just too many variables that make tanks impossible to gurgle or go dry. Temperature, heat, viscosity of the liquid, the speed that the wick dries the juice, and the Variation of the voltage given to the coil, causing a change in the juice demanded to the coils. Unless there is some very advanced sensor to regulate how saturated the wick is, we have to rely on our own sensors... our taste buds.

With the latest advances in atomizer tanks, the current builds work on a vacuum system. It requires a specific vacuum ammount to withhold some juice. Unfortunately, there are too many variables out there to call that a foolproof system. You may find a setup that works well at the desk, but if you take it outside in the heat, you might get some gurgling as the heat will upset the vacuum pressure. What I like to do with these builds, is to make a semi thick wick, and allow it to naturally want to dry hit eventually. When I need more juice, I will put my finger over the air inlet and do a quick and brief inhale. That will draw some juice into the wick, and it will work again. This system seems to work the most reliable for me.

The second option is to leave out the tanks entirely. This is why dripping is so popular, since the wick is replenished manually. I don't like this since I have to constantly drip into the atomizer, but I've never heard of a leaking dripper unless there is a defective seal, or user area.

a hybrid between dripping and a tank system is called sqonking. It's where the tank is underneath a dripping atomizer, and to replenish the wick, you manually squeeze the bottle on the PV, and it replenishes the atomizer. to my knowledge, only the Reo has that option.

One atomizer has it where you push the wicks into the tank when it needs refilled. This is the 3D atomizer. I don't know of too many people who use it, but I know it exists.

Another is to go old school and do either catomizers or a genesis style tanks. Cartomizers use a polyfill to suspend the liquid, but those are still prone to leaking if they get hot and they are expensive and disposable. Wrapping a tank around it helps prolongs the cartomizer and makes it a bit more cost friendly. As far as the Genesis goes, those work well, but you tip the whole atomizer to re-wet the wick when it gets low. I've had my AGA-T2 for over a year, and it still works well. The only time it leaks is when it's layed on it's side.

The best thing I'd recommend is to get into rebuilding your own coils to suit your vaping needs. When you start rebuilding, you can customize the heat of the coils and the size and density of the wick. I have a cheap mini protank clone that, by default, would dry hit all the time. The first thing I do is take the coil apart and re-do it. I switch it to organic cotton and regulate the flow by having a denser or thinner wick. to match the ohms of the coil. If I were to stick a stock protank coil on a standard EGO type battery, it works great. But I use my mini protank on a variable voltage Ego and run it at a bit higher voltage than normal.

IF you have a leaking issue, I would check several things. 1, do you use it in a hot environment or change from a hot place to a cold place.. that will wreak havoc on the vacuum system and there's not too much you can do. Never leave your ecig in a hot car, it WILL leak. How hard are you inhaling? it creates the juice supply when you inhale, so if you have strong quick inhales, it will supply juice faster than it can vaporize it. How tight of a draw is it? if it's too tight of a draw, it creates too much of a vacuum to it. try increasing the air hole slightly to see if that helps. How thin is your juice? try a thicker or higher VG ratio juice. And lastly, have you tried upping the voltage/wattage to burn off the juice quicker.

I wish I could try more tanks, but my aerotank started great then the temp outside got over 90 and it was flood city. My spare evod has yet to fail me, but I don't find the vape as enjoyable or satisfying. My current favorite is the iClear X.1, I like an airy draw and this tank provides it. Doesn't have an airflow option and kinda makes my juices taste like if they have a cooling agent in them...then again maybe they do and I just didn't realize it until the switch.

Since the EHPro Kayfun 3.1 I've only used the Nautilus and the Aerotank Mega here and there. Mostly, that's because the heads I have are jit and miss. The Kayfun is predictable and reliable with only a wick change ever 2 or 3 days during a refill. It's become simple and easy to maintain.

I guess I need to drop by the B&M and see if the new coils have arrived for the Kanger and Aspire line.

I use ibtanked and crazy vape carto tanks . I also use Iclears 30s, 30b and X.1. The s and b have plastic tanks that do not seem to be affected by the e-juices that are tank crackers. The x.1 is glass. Of them the ibtanked gets the most use, mostly due to its 8ml volume and great flavor rendering.

I also have three RBAs with important volume, but that's not what you are looking for.

Just as eating and drinking, I find boring to always taste the 'best' of anything.

I find that variety is the best way for MY vaping experience. I have my preferences as stated above, but I rotate usage of all my atomizers. They all render flavors in different ways and this is a most enjoyable way of vaping for me.

<snip>I picked up an EHPro Kayfun 3.1 and never looked back.
+1 for the Kayfun! Albeit the build deck is a wee bit on the small size, a little practice and you'll get there.

The Kangers are good when the coils last.<snip>
Totally agree! With the last blister pack of Kanger coils I bought, I promptly yanked out the stock coils and rebuilt using organic cotton for wicks. I haven't looked back from that, either.

I've been for a while around and tried lots of things. Unfortunately there's no tank for one person, but several depending your current setup, including your actual batteries, your vaping habits, etc.

I picked up a Vapeonly BCC (also known as Ismoka) and never looked back. Now and then I go back to the Aspires, find one or two coil heads that work fine, but contact issues and non wicking issues start shortly after.

I think it's a matter of trial and error, buy a tank, try it for a month or so before another one of its kind gets to you. I try to test as many as my budget allows as I rarely use any tank (except the Vapeonlys) for 4 or 5 months. Then it's back to square one, eyeing the new tank in vogue.

As we speak you'll find in my vaping purse two Vapeonly Megas, 1 eleaf mini (new, same manufacturer), a Davide Aspire (that will go to the unused bin in a matter of hours as I finish this tank) and an iClear 30 old version. Most have 3 heads a piece, and I haven't bought anything new in months. No Protanks or eVods, although I miss the T3 that vaped so well.

What I mean is try around. Set yourself a budget, try different clearos, and think outside the box. Most probably you'll get one that will vape CLOSE to what you want.
