Hey everyone,

I have pretty sensitive lungs from asthma and even a relatively mild TH bothers my throat and chest.
Looking for the best choice of options to maximize vapor production with the lowest possible TH.

Right now I'm using two different kinds of 3.7v Ego batteries (Ego-C and Kanger Evod) and 3.0 ohm boges. Running at about 4.0-4.5 watts with a 100% vg liquid. I like a very cool vape. Nicotine content 1.8%

I get jealous when I walk into the nearest e-cig shop and see people blowing massive thunderclouds that fill the room. I have a decent amount of thick vapor, but of course I want more.

Could someone recommend a combination of battery and atty or carto that will provide more vapor without increasing TH?
I suppose I could reduce nicotine content and vape at a higher wattage, since this stuff never gave me a buzz anyway, but is that my best course of action? Worried the increase in wattage won't offset the reduction in nicotine and I'll be coughing and wheezing.

Side-note: does anyone actually experience a buzz from an e-cig, like that you would get from an analog?

They only buzz I ever got from 35 years of smoking came with the first drags from that first cigarette in the morning. Chances are that buzz came from the ammonia that is added to cigarettes.

The refined nicotine in e-liquid has never given me a buzz except during my noob days days if I vaped too much nicotine. That buzz wasn't pleasant.

TH comes from nicotine.

If you want a buzz burning tobacco or vaping nicotine is not what you are looking for.

Hi, Quipstad. I have asthma too. How long have you been vaping? I noticed that the first week or two I was pretty sensitive and prone to coughing up a lung if I inhaled too deeply. I think that may have been due to sensitivity from smoking though, because the longer I vape the less likely I am to get that “tight” feeling. Some flavors affect me more than others, I’ve found that dessert type flavors seem smoother going down than more tart, fruity flavors. Now that I’ve been at it for a little while I haven’t had any problems and my lung function has improved drastically. Good luck, keep trying to find something that works for you!

Hi Whren,

I've been vaping for about a year and a half. I started with Blu E-cigs and found theirs to give me lots of vapor, great flavor and almost no harshness at all. It took me a while to figure out how they did it, but that's what got me where I am. Low wattage with 3.7 volts and 3.0-3.5 ohms of resistance on the cartomizer.

After I graduated to a mod, I started on some of the dessert flavors but nothing is as good, in my opinion, as the magnificent menthol from Blu. Their juice comes from Johnson Creek Smoke Juice, who makes a similar one for people to buy from them (Wisconsin Frost). I was a menthol smoker and love the menthol juice. I liked the fruity ones at first but it quickly wore off as I didn't think the smoke coming out of my mouth should taste like candy.

Improvement in vapor production comes two ways: more wattage from the coil and high percentage VG juice.

You can get a big improvement in vapor by switching out that Boge carto for a single coil Smok 1.7 ohm or 2.0 ohm carto. Getting the most vapor from a carto means keeping the carto saturated to the max all of the time. Carto tanks can accomplish this task by keeping the carto saturated at all times. Getting the most vapor from a carto tank set up means experimenting with the carto punching or slotting and your juice mix. The carto must have enough open slot or punched area to keep the carto just short of over-saturation or flooding with your juice mix. I like to punch my own cartos for this reason. I actually punch bigger holes for winter vaping than I do for summer. I use a high percentage VG juice.

Carto tanks can produce a larger amount of vapor than the amount of smoke produced by smoking cigarettes.

VG adds to vapor production while muting throat hit, but the one, primary thing that makes throat hit is nicotine content. So a pure vg fluid with a non harsh flavor(menthol, cinnamon, etc can be experienced by some people as pseudo throat hit) and zero nicotine running at 10 watts or higher would be the "best" solution to your question.

I found that taking a hit of my husband's menthol/chocolate flavor is one of the worst offenders (which sucks, it tastes so good!).

Well for anyone into rebuildables i recently got a chest cold and had problems vaping my normal dripping setups so i built a single parallel coil using 26ga. 4/5 wraps. Since the wire is side by side the coil is quite large. ohms out to .32. Very minimal throat hit.compared to other builds ,using 70/30 vg/pg 6mg nic which is my normal juice.
Yes i am expereinced before anyone chimes in stabbing at im building to low lol
I guess thats why i love rebuildables. And oh ya it throws out a ton of vapor and in the quasar the flavor is great!
So try parallel coils of your into rebuildables.

Vapor stays for a moment, so if I want to make clouds, I take a small draw and inhale this without stopping firing and I slowly draw after till battery say no more or I can no more... then I blow it all out :w00t:

Edit:
Most people think need more power to get more clouds but it's also possible with a thinner coil wire with more raps, more raps means more contact with the wick ;)

Thanks everyone for the responses.

I did not have good experiences with tanks and LR cartos. It tasted wet as ever and I had lots of sizzling noises, but somehow burned the crap out of my lungs and minimal vapor. I could not figure out why. Others suggested maybe the coil was vaporizing the juice too quickly for the wick to move it, resulting in a dry hit despite a soaked polyfil. My VG juice is a little thick, but not so thick that it should have trouble wicking. Consistency of vegetable oil.
