If you aren't able to build coils or fully understand ohms law, you should probably not use a mechanical mod.

Mechanical mods are advanced user items.

Regulated devices have protective circuitry, in case of a short.

Mechanical mods do not have any protection.

Mechanicals are only safe if you know what you are doing.

Prebuilt $2 coils are known to fail right out of the box. This could be a disaster on a mech mod.

I am able to build them and understand ohms law, I just don't like to do it. I would rather just buy them and replace them like that when needed.

Then you understand what would happen if you attach an atty with a shorted out prebuilt coil on a mech, right?

You also understand a mech has nothing at all to do with flavor or taste, right?

A mech is only battery shell and a switch.

I am not a fanboy but it sounds like you want something simple and easy to use so I am going to say Provari and a decent tank like a Kanger Subtank or Nautilus. The Kanger gives you a lot of options for coils if you decide to get into something different.

If you might be wanting big clouds, the simple setup is not going to give it to you. For decent but not big clouds a good start that is simple would be a Subox mini. Respectable clouds for what it is but not going to give you the same thing as a high wattage mod and a dripper. Another would be one of the Sigelei box mods like a 75 that is beginner friendly and a decent tank that will take a sub ohm coil. Again I recommend the Subtank for ease of use and reliability. I have 2 minis and a nano that have been flawless.

Tell us exactly what your goal is and we can make some more specific recommendations.

For juices my go to is Ahlusion. Best I have found so far and as a bonus for me they are local so I can stop in and grab what I want anytime. Even if I had to have it shipped they would be the top of my list.

I'm going to suggest either a MVP 3 Pro
or the Joyetech Evic Vt. They are both capable of 60 Watts while the Provari is limited to around
20 Watts or so. You might want those extra watts later on. You can do some serious cloud chasing with
either of these.

They also support Subohm Vaping so if you want to go into dripping they will go down to .20 Ohms and less on the VTC. With either of these there really is no point to a mechanical unless you want to vape at levels close to a hard short. Pretty dangerous.

Both are box mods. Both have batteries built in so you save on a charger and batteries.
The evic is very tiny, I'm tempted to buy one myself for stealth vaping. It fits completely inside my hand. Not sure about form factor of the MVP3 Pro

Myself, I've found the 40 Watt to 60 Watt range to be my sweet spot and would be totally dissatisfied with a Provari. Actually when I felt that I had redundant mods I ended up selling the Provari and keeping a MVP1 because of the tremendous life of the battery.
I have Mechanical Bottom Feeders and they are gathering dust.

Both available at a sweet price point for around $60.00
Evic VT http://www.myvaporstore.com/SearchResults.asp?Search=evic
The Evic kit even comes with a decent tank [arguably]

MVP3 Pro
http://www.myvaporstore.com/SearchResults.asp?Search=mvp3
Also paired with tank or alone.

The Mvp 3 Pro is the simplest setup. But the Evic is doable if you read the manual or watch the YouTube videos.

From there I think that Tank Technology is just about on par with dripping [Arguably]

I suggest a Uwell Crown Subtank
or
Tobeco Supertank Mini [For Stealth]

I strongly suggest before purchasing a setup go to youtube.com and watch the reviews.
So for around $70.00 to $80.00 you can get simple setups that will provide excellent performance. This was unheard of when I began vaping 6 years ago. Up until the past year or two if you wanted a good setup it would set you back $200.00+

What are looking for in the device and atomizer set up? Are you more geared toward higher power or will you be okay with stuff below 30 watts and below?

Since you are not into the box style device you will be limited to a few options, since mostly what comes out today is box looking.

I agree with the Provari suggestion and a clearomizer tank of choice. If you are not up to spending for the Provari, these Sigelei tubes which are solid are on sale and look like good deals. Keep in mind these only read/fire down to 0.5ohms. Provari is better imo

It's older tech, but still nice. I believe they use the sx300. Otherwise boxes give you more flexibility since there are a ton of mass produced ones.

Yes, I am willing to chance it. Yes; when did I say anything about the mech being related to taste?

I was thinking whatever mech I like + TFV4 tank (.15 coils from 40-130 watts, fresh 18650 at 3.7v will put out ~91 watts or the .2 coils from 40-120 watts at 3.7v will put out ~68 watts) or Delta 2 tank (.5 coils from 20-45 watts, fresh 18650 at 3.7 will put out ~27 watts and drop obv). Either of these seem like viable options. This is the kind of setup I'm looking for.

Re read your first post.

You are an adult and can make your own choices.
I made a recommendation based on your posts.

I will never recommend using prebuilt coils on any mechanical mod.
Prebuilt coils are of very questionable quality, and those atomizers were never intended for use on a mechanical mod.

A freshly charged 18650 can output 4.2volts minus voltage drop, 3.7volts is the nominal voltage. An 18650 can only handle so much current too. Many people run 0.2ohm builds on single battery mechanicals, although it's not advisable for someone new, especially with a disposable coil that you are first firing on a mechanical.

Most batteries will only put out 20 amps being continuously discharged despite what the battery seller states. A member here tests many of the popular batteries and his results show 20 CDR.

Although if you really want to put a clearomizer on a mechanical (not advisable), you have to make sure the coil going into the tank is solid, possibly test it on another device. The mechanical also should have a top cap and not a hybrid style like the SMPL, a lot of those clearos don't have protruding 510 pins to meet the battery. Just some info to keep you safe.

If you are dead set on going mechanical then build your own coils, it is safest way to do it. Personally I have been vaping for about 3 years and I don't play with mechanicals. Not only does it not interest me as that particular aspect of vaping is not my thing (started to quit smoking an then got into the flavor aspect and minor cloud chasing) but I have watched what happens when something goes wrong. That got me even less interested in mechanicals.

I would start with a regulated device to get your feet wet and then progress after gaining a little knowledge and confidence.

Best tasting setup, not best tasting mech lol. Obviously in that sentence I am mostly talking about the tank.

If you are into the flavor aspect, whats your recommendation for a tank and mod if it is a box? I put a pause on vaping because I couldn't get the flavor I wanted out of it. Whats the best build for flavor? I like a warm to hot, creamy, dense vape.

I am happy with the Subtank nano and mini but a lot of people like the flavor and vapor from the Smok with the quad coil. You are going to need some big watts for that though so look for something that will push 150 to 200 watts. It barely makes vapor at 60 watts from what I have read. I have not tried it personally. There are a lot of good clearos out there and everyone has their favorite. I have not tried a lot but have been thinking about a big watt mod and a multi coil setup.

I like the Sigelei offerings as well as the ipv 3li. Something like that will give you plenty of room to grow as they will do temp control as well if you decide to go that route.

Also remember that VG makes clouds but PG carries the flavor. 50/50 mix is a balance but you are going to lose the big clouds. 70/30 is good as well with stronger flavors but when you start getting into 90/10 you are losing most of the flavor as it is only 10% pg but gaining the bigger clouds. It is all a compromise.

I'm not fogging rooms but with the right build and 65% PG you can still "produce". :p

Yeah man, go the route of a dual battery regulated box. You'll be able to run those lower ohm coils if you wish and use different tanks at different wattage settings to find what you like. A mechanical is going to need to maintenance, cleaning contacts, adjusting atomizer pins if they are not self adjusting or floating. Every time you hit the switch on most tube mechanicals you complete the connection on the negative part of the battery, over time you need to make sure that contact is clean and smooth, otherwise you run into stuff like battery pitting and misfires. I clean my Stingray X and SMPL switch and housing every few days days if I'm using them heavily.

Not trying to steer you away, but you have to make sure you know what you are getting into. I used a the Sigelei 150 (non TC) since December last year and got my first two mechanicals sometime late spring this year.

Just out of curiosity, what is is about a mechanical that appeals to you? Is it because it is a tube or something else?

I like the sleek tube look and durability of mechs.
Just say it you want the cool looks of a mech but don't want to fool with what makes a mech awesome, the build.

Basically yes.

I have made single/dual micro coil builds and single/dual macro coil builds but none of them tasted better than the stock dual .25 coils on my UWELL Crown tank. They were either on par or worse.

I have a Crown and I agree. Great taste on the .25 Dual.
