I am looking for the best tank for vaping at 1 ohm and above. Right now I have a Ipv3 li and a Uwell crown tank, the vapor production is great and flavor is pretty good but it goes through juice so fast with either the .25 ohm dual coil or the .15 temp control coil. I figure I can get the same flavor or better and about the same vapor production with a coil 1 ohm+. I have a freakshow rda on the way too, how much more flavor will I get out of the rda than a tank?

Thinking about trying the kanger subbox mini kit and using the 1.2 ohm coil. I just want the best flavor I can get without running through juice with low ohm coils.

Yep, virtually the same. I think the airflow is a lil different? You will need 28G for a KF/R91 for sure. The screws are too small to hold 24G and there isn't enough room to get the resistance up over 1 ohm with wire that big. I build mine at 1.4 ohms - 28G 8 wraps @ 2mm. I tried it with 26G and the screws kept pushing the wire out when I tightened them down.

Is the Russian 91% the same thing as the kayfun? I have 24g kanthal on the way, whats a good 1ohm+ build? I am thinking about getting some 28g kanthal to build micro coils.

Russian 91% is the same as a Kayfun light. Get some 28 awg for a 8wrap 2.3mm contact coil.

I would not go as small as micro coils (1.5-1.9mm ID) but you can.

+1 vote for a Kayfun. If you get one, make it a Light+ rather than a V4.

To reduce your juice consumption, your looking primarily at building coils with less surface area. You can turn the watts down, but that cools your vape as well.

To get a kanthal coil build up over 1.0 ohms, your likely going to want 28awg or thinner wire. I run 2.5 ID spaced 6 wrap 26awg in mine which comes out at 0.8 ohms with a coil surface area of 80 mm sq, or a 2.5 ID spaced 6 wrap 27awg at 1.0 ohms with a coil surface area of 70 mm sq, so 28 should do you.

Whatever you try, do put your coil specs into the Steam Engine so you can see what surface area your getting. Hit the advanced button in the Steam Engine to see the coil surface area. You can do the same with your TC coils for a comparison.

I own a Kayfun lite plus and a Lemo (v1). Out of the 2, I prefer the Lemo v1. Airflow is good, it's easy to build, it's at a great price point, and it is pretty much leak proof.

I usually build them both to about 1.2 to 1.4 ohms. I'll vape them off a DNA 30 or DNA 40 device at around 22-27 watts. The vapor production and airflow is better on the Lemo, but the Kayfun is slightly better on flavor.
