So, I'm having trouble burning my Volt Cartomizers. Even after refilling them often, and switching between two cartomizers every two draws, I'm still torching them. I've decided that I should just bite the bullet and stop using anything that has cloth/paper in it. I want a clean vaping experience. What is the best tank for the Volt? I was browsing the vapeforlife website (since it seems to be the most popular) and found this: 808D Ecigarette Style - 3.5ml Dual Coil Tank. Should I get some of these, or are there better ones I should get?

On a scale from 1 to 10, I say my vaping experience so far is a 5. Having to refill my cartomizers 5 times a day and having to carry around 2 Volts and 2 cartomizers and still not getting a clean draw is ticking me off.

Thanks, in advance.

i feel your pain,,,charlie310,,,and yes its possible to tank a volt 808 batt,,,,those 3.5ml dcts you mention are 1.5 ohm,, they will not work with volts regulated batteries,,,ive tried 1.5 cartos,,1.7ohm cartos,,,the regulator in the (all) volt batteries will not let it power,,,reads it as a short circuit,,,volts clearos are ok for thinner juice,,,not good for anything over 50/50,,espically dark juices dont run well in the volt clearomisers,,,,those run at 2.6-2.9 ohm,,,,so my next step is to try a 2.5 ohm carto,,with a tank like smoketech,,,,always order the xl,,(extra long) cartos,,,or they will not fit most tanks,,,theyll be too short,,,diameter should be ok,,get the stainless cartos,,,no black paper,,,,
ive punched 3 holes (3 for my 50/50+ juice mix,,1or2 for higher pg) in the xl volt carto,,and run in a smoketech tank,,im getting much better vape,,because the carto is always saturated,,,but like you,,im looking for better,,,hard to do with a limited voltage/current battery like volt,,,,

if you dont like the taste of cartos,,,volts clearos are good,,but dont work for me because i run heavy juice(over 50%vg),,
and dont try dual-coil cartos,,,regardless of ohms,,,,current protection will shut em down,,,

good choice for you is to try the vivi tank from gotvapes,,(you will need the 510/808 adapter, available everywhere,,like 5 bucks,,good to have with the volt,,seeing all the good stuff out there is 510 threads anyway),,comes with 3 different ohms,,(2.4/2.6/2.8),,all should work with volt batteries,,wouldnt try anything lower than that,,i like the screw caps with it,,,most tanks are just push in,,,and the vivis work the same as volts clearos,,no carto filler,,just a wick,,for better flavor,,,get the lowest ohm on that volt batt,(the 2.4 should rock),and you should be cranking!!(i intend to try it myself for my thinner juices)

i encourage research on my untested opinions before buying,,weve all gone broke going that route,,,but its not hard here on the forum,,great people here,,,

as i said,,im the same boat as you,,wanting more out of my volt x2 1300mah battery,,,tank for no refills every couple hrs,,and lower-ohm clearo/wick type for clean taste,,,will work on lower mah batteries,,just use one/charge one,,,should get ya happy again about vaping,,,,

do not get discouraged,,as i sense in your post,,,anyone here will tell you its frustrating getting to that sweet spot,,but this forum has the answers!....ill keep yaall updated!,,,,

So, I don't know how these really are, but I'm waiting on a set of these (both "regular" and XL) in the mail.:

FLüXomizer™ KR808 Clearomizers : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more

Sure, not a tank, but the 1.8ml on the XL is going to be better than whatever sad amount goes in a regular carto. For me, I'm mostly annoyed at the cartos for being opaque and making it impossible to know when to fill.

I heard mostly good things about them online (although yeah, who knows, right?). I figure it's not much of a loss if they suck since they're on sale and [a box of 5] ends up being about the same price as non-transparent, polyfill-fulled regular cartos (in the $8 to $9) range.

I use these exclusively with the new volt fat batteries. People either love them or hate them but I think the vapor quality is the best with these. I remove the rubber around the ceramic coil holder, just use the center rubber piece. Plus I use a different mouthpiece. They need to be vertical with these modifications or can drip but there is no wicking problems. Look on youtube for the fluximizer mods.

Update: I love these things. No more polyfill evar. Period.

Oh, I meant to ask, what are you using by way of mouthpiece? The freebie ones are gross.

I'd love to find low-profile/short drip tips or high-profile/tall endcaps that go on the ends of these things. The form factor of a mini 808 batt + XL clearomizer + ginormous drip tip is kind of ridiculous. :/

I also use these clear and easy tanks from cigeasy...
CLEAR AND EASY TANK

I prefer the clearomizers but these are good too. I reuse the clear and easy tips on clearomzers. they are soft rubber-like material.

My Phoenix/CE3 clearos are awesome on 808s. I like it more than fluxos. I don't use a drip tip.. just the same rubber tips on regular cartos. Believe me, I have other equipment, and I thought I'd just go for this set up for being on the go, but it's just a cool set up period. 808s are nice for reasonable battery life and being small in the hands - but a tank defeats the purpose of convenience. These are just 1.3 ml, but they last long enough. It's a cinch to refill them, clean them, and they just keep on ticking. Toss them around, put em in your pocket, do whatever the hell you want. They aren't going to spill, nor do they look weird like a tank. They're close to everything regular cartos should be.

Just a suggestion for those looking for an alternative on 808's. Check out Mroutlaws video. He goes over things really, really well.

I would HIGHLY recommend looking at all his videos. They are not short, but it is time well spent. He specifically talks about the Phoenix and has another video on that. It is my next purchase ... unless Smokeless Image gets a nice sealed, no leak option soon like the Phoenix, which they are supposed to be coming out with.
