OK, so I now have a few tanks. HOWEVER, I have decided that there are advantages and disadvantages to what I have. I have a tank that has plastic top and bottom, but the bottom has a correctly shaped fitting for a carto that is flanged at the bottom. In other words, it has two straight sides and two rounded sides so that the carto "locks" into the bottom, which makes tightening the carto onto the PV easier. I also have tanks that have a metal top and bottom stopper, but the inset on the bottom is completely round, which makes tightening the carto more of a challenge. I'd like to find a tank that has the metal top and bottom, with the correctly shaped bottom stopper for the flanged cartos. In addition, I'd like the metal to be BLACK, and the tank to be dark. Suggestions?

Hmmm - Phiniac sells beautiful tanks with the option of Stainless Steel caps (silver or sandblasted silver). VERY tight fit on the carto, won't slip or slide, easy to tighten. Standard caps are black delrin. I know, it's a type of very hard, durable plastic, not what you were looking for , but I haven't managed to screw one up yet and I'm good at screwing up stuff.... LOL!

finally at least an answer that makes sense, kinda....

what about a design where the carto has a longer set of threads and goes in prior to the bottom going on, and you SCREW the bottom stopper into the carto and then on to the PV. This isn't that hard, and amazing to me that something as simple as a "leak proof" set up hasn't been designed yet!

very nice tanks, thank you Ratchet. Interesting comments about juice EATING tanks? Is there a chance I'm vaping PLASTIC with a regular tank? Anyway, the glass tanks look really nice. Also, no pics of the bottom stainless steel stoppers, so I don't know if they are notched correctly for the locking of the carto?

They will lock your carto in very tightly, zero leakage..... :) With some juices (cinnamon, some citrus, gummibear,.....), they may cause your polycarb tank to crack and leak, some have even been known to almost dissolve clearos.... I love the Phiniacs, I can vape what I want, no worries about leaking/cracking.... Yes, they are more pricey but they are beautiful. I own 3, with 2 more coming in on Tuesday. All loaded with different flavors. That should keep me going for a while until I see another Phiniac I really like..LOL! I'm bad about ordering stuff. Just ask my bank, they questioned all the multiple charges last week. OOPS! LOL!

I have 2 DCTs, the first is the plastic with the notches, and the second is one of the metal ones with the free floating bottom. I've never had an issues with making sure they were screwed in...remember, you don't need to crank them in, just snug or finger-tight is perfect. If you crank them in, it can mess up the positive connector on the adapter.

That being said, my drip tips all fit pretty snugly in my tank-cartos, so if I'm trying to tighten it up a bit more, I just grip the carto and give it a little twist.

Hope this helps,
-X
