HUGE fan of Pyrex carto-tanks here. Easy to fill, easy to maintain, and since it's not a polymer (plastic, polycarbonate, etc.) it's not going to react with the juice in the tank. For me, they taste.... "clean?" and I feel that I am getting the flavor of my juice and not it's chemical interaction with the tank or other soaking components.

With that said, I suspect that your experience of "muted flavor" may come down to either your voltage/wattage/resistance and/or some "build-up" on your atomizer/coils. The process of vaporizing juice will lead to deposits on the heating element(s) and reduce the efficiency of vapor production.

You mentioned that the flavor is "lacking", how is the vapor production?

I recently bought a couple of the 2.0 ml mini vivi nova's and I really like them. In one I have a 2.4ohm head and the other I believe is 1.8 and the flavors are great. I think the 2.8 ohm head may be the issue if you're just using a standard 3.7v setup. Try a VV setup, I cranked mine up to 4.8v and had to tone it back cuz the flavor was overwhelming. Ended up sitting it around 4.2-4.4v for best taste with a 2.4 ohm head. The other tank with the 1.8ohm head i use on a standard 3.7v ego 900mah batt and its just fine. Then again, different strokes for different folks.

vapor production is excellent.
when i first got my vivinova, i had full flavor.
i want to make my vivinova work to full potential because i like how easy and convenient it is.
I have a plastic tank maybe a metal would be better?
The problem, in my opinion, is that the silica wick delivery system is inferior in delivering flavor consistantly to the heating coil. A cartotank's polyfill totally surrounds and bathes the heating coil with juice, assuring you get the best flavor possible in a wick-styled delivery system. The only way you can get better flavor is dripping juice on a drip atomizer, which has it's own issues with inconvenience being the main factor.

I'm presently vaping on an Innokin iClear 30 clearomizer, with some eVo Pina Colada. The flavor's quite good, although not quite as good as my cartomizers. It has dual-top coils and 16 silica wicks, so it feeds a lot of juice to those two heating coils for both good flavor and lots of vapor.

I have a 2.4 ohm head and 2.8 ohm head.
When i first got it the 2.4 ohm head was in and was hitting great with 4.2v also.
I tried again and my vivinova still does not produce the flavor I've tasted before!
I'm reading up on another thread and they talk about "resetting tongue" Maybe that can be a factor because the back of my tongue feels like I have just eaten a whole bunch of sour worms.
Has anyone had this similar experience with the "Tongue"?

So you guys aren't too keen on Protanks huh? I wanted to order a Protank 2, but I've been seeing people push cartomizers with tanks. That IBTanked looks good. Anyway I can land those for under $20 like I can with a Protank 2?

One thing I liked about the videos of Protank vs Cartos is that the Protank seems to produce more vape. I might be willing to trade a little flavor for a fuller vapor.

I got great vapor from the Vivi's, but lacking flavor at best! I tried upping the volts, lowering the volts, nothing helped. I had a vendor tell me to keep it around 5 watts, meh, still no flavor. Lay it on it's side for half an hour, yeah, it would vape great for about ten min, then peter out again. Lay it on it's side for half an hour, and so on. That's not how I care to vape, thank you!
The pro tanks wick better, but still mute the flavor some, not as bad as the Vivi's, but it's there. Then you get to vaping happily away and have a handful of juice, great times! Take it apart, clean it, fiddle with it, refill it and start all over. Then juice everywhere!
As for a tank for carto's, a tank is a tank is a tank IMO! It's what you put in it that matters the most! Get GOOD carto's and be happy!

Okay, also I ate a macadamia nut cookie from Subway, which is very sweet(where I work, Yeah I be vaping inside the fridge.:vapor: )
I hit my vape and boom! I tasted great flavor.
Has anyone experienced this before? Or a similar experience?
I've noticed the same thing, think its the "resetting the tongue" thing. Noticed after taking a swig of MT. Dew that the flavor profile of whatever juice i'm vaping tends to change. Sometimes for the better, sometimes for the worse.

It's more a matter of personal preference and the type of juice you use. The Protanks are good and they are easy to use. I sacrifice some flavor for ease of use. I did use cartos and every time I filled a tank or primed a new carto, I'd make a mess, have juice dripping all over the place and just didn't have the patience for them.

+1 for PT2, cheap, no glue, easy to clean, rebuild, and switch flavors. However, most clearos are finicky in nature, so if you're not into rebuilding/troubleshooting then you're probably better off with a carto tank setup. If you're into rebuildables, then you might want to look into something like the Kayfun, Taifun, or Ithaka or their respective clones (Russian, Fogger, and Hercules).
