I want more flavor out of my KayFun

Make sure you're not using too much cotton. When you wet it, it should lay along the edge between the build deck wall and floor, away from the juice intake.

My EHPro kayfun's blow away every Kanger ProTank, ProTank 3, Aerotank, Aerotank Mega and Aspire nautilus I own.

I had this problem when I started on the Kayfun as well. There's a fine balance you have to find with those wicks.

Also, are you taking a drag immediately after you fire your mod? I find that letting the coil heat up and make that crackle before taking draw works best in getting that dense flavor at higher ohms.

Higher the gauge the faster you can get it to heat on a vv/vw. 32 is good but 34 is pushing it because you can pop it with high voltage. I've been using 32 for a long time heats up way faster because there is less mass and also easier for a vv like a zmax. 2.7ohms is good at 5-6 v and your battery last longer also.

Well I made the Navy nest, cotton wicked that bad boy, juiced her up and fired away…

Just like normal I had to let the kayfun sit for a bit to get good juice into the wick and the flavor was better. I am beginning to wonder if it's the juice or the fact I am new to vaping and expect every drag to taste like the first… Which it does not. But I want it to so bad!!

I recoiled my kayfun as per the video on the navy nest using 28 gauge. I am at 1.2 ohms with this coil and running about 3 volts. Ran it all day and it worked well. Only issue I have is I can taste the nicotine all day no problem. But the flavor not so much. Doesn't taste burnt at all… Just doesn't taste like the flavor unless I don't touch it for a few hours. Then I get the flavor. But loose it once I resume my vaping like normal.

Using 9mg nic 50/50 mix.

Is it normal to "loose" the flavor?? Then regain it once you don't vape for a few?

Yes. This is why I switch flavors all day. I vape one for too long and it just doesn't taste as good. If I keep switching it around though, they all taste great. I carry multiple tanks with me. A mix of cartotanks and Kayfuns.

I wouldn't say I loose flavor but it does mute some the more I use that same flavor or if I'm chain vaping(not on kayfun, I don't have low enough nic to do that on the kayfun yet). I've found though some flavors seem to be more prone to it than others, bold flavors seem to stay longer, but then if I go to something less strong sometimes it's barely noticeable so it's almost a ramping up.

Usually though I don't notice a huge drop off in flavor over the day. I do however usually swap around a bit.

Wow that navy nest wick looks pretty awesome not sure how I would ever accomplish that with cotton though. :/

same way you would with silica just leave the cotton tails long estimate the needed length after you screw the house section on tuck the cotton down to the channel area and lay it over the screw heads

Sounds like your getting vapors tongue easier then most when I get it all the flavor is gone. I then vape something strong like Black licorice or strong mint flavor to rid myself of that. Another thing is to make sure your drinking water that helps with flavor and helps keep you from getting vapors tongue. I found the navy nest by mistake and figured hell why not. I made it in silica liked it and decided to do it in cotton.

Ok that sounds pretty logical. I'm gonna grab my glass tank PT and fill it with cinnamon vanilla… I'll hit that for a bit. It's 12mg instead of the 9 I've been hitting but I needs me the flavor!! Hate tobacco flavorings.. If I had one though I probably wouldn't have this issue at all. The nicotine taste is there though.. The KayFun REALLY amplifies that!! LOL!!

I keep reading that but I seriously need to ask one question…

How many ways are there to build a KayFun wrong? It vapes just as well, I coil it the same way I coil the PT's. I also wick it the same way. I don't think it is just "not right". I think there is more going on here then that.

It could be a lot of things but I think it has more to do with design differences and juices. My builds really look no different then any of the others I have seen. I get the same ohms, use the same voltages, and wick the same way. But the juices…. Yes the juices are different.

Also we have the ability to get vapors tongue.. When I hand it to my wife to vape she says it tastes fine to her. So I am at an impasse for sure.

I have juices from 3 local vendors. 2 of them sponsor here.. Both of them do not have the same "strength" on flavor as the third. So back to the third vendor we go to try their juice again.

I made a mistake when I got the KayFun. I switched juices at the same time. I should not have done that. I should have stuck with the juice I liked at the time for a real comparison. So some of this is on me. But I am thinking it's the juice at this point. So I have to check it out and see what happens. I sure hope its the juice.

Juice is a funny thing. I buy a special made flavor from a local B&M shop they even named it after me. Sometimes it just isn't as good as the time before, so to see if that's the case I bought 1 and waited 3 days and bought another, let both steep same number of days and used them in my dripper, sure enough different. One thing I find with one of the juice flavors I use is in my I30S units its really good flavor but in the kayfun its metallic tasting. its only with that one juice. What I am thinking is the flavor from the kayfun is the true flavor and from the 30s its muted. I say this because any other juice I used in the 30S tastes even better in a kayfun.

Rite now I'm vaping on 7 different Kayfun units plus 2 drippers daily each has its own flavor so I can mix it up during the day this also helps with taste and keeps you from getting used to one flavor easily. If you up for the challenge try making the diamond coil for the kayfun or even the stovetop both of those are very good at bringing out the best in flavor the navy nest I posted has been very good for me and I can build that in minutes if need be. I am using a duel stovetop in my caterpillar dripper and its insane

I am leaning more and more towards the juice right now. We have 8 flavors from 3 different vendors. 2 of the good flavors came from the same place. Probably going to be visiting them soon.

I just put a grape koolaid flavored juice into my wives unit… Tasted like complete garbage! So I thought the wick must be burnt or something. Took it all apart, wick looked fine. So burned the junk off the coil and wicked it again. Same exact result.. Garbage! So now I am getting irritated. Yeah it tasted that bad! So I cleaned it all up and figured I would try a different flavor.. WALAH!! Tastes great!

At this point I am of the opinion that most of my local vendors suck at making juice.. I mean REALLY SUCK at it.. So now I have one good local vendor (which is way better than none because I at least know how it should taste) and I am going to be needing advice for other good juice makers. Probably online vendors. Was thinking Virgin Vapor.

Thanks so much for your help so far. It has truly helped me figure out whats going on.

I'll try the diamond for sure… The stovetop scares me. I have big fingers… LOL!
