Using it now. Liking it but is there a way to view it sort of like the forum n not as new posts.

Not really. There is a "forum" view, but it's only the forums themselves. No threads until you actually drill down into the forum itself. The entire purpose of Tapatalk is to speed up the browsing experience.
Anyway to actually start a thread with Tapatalk or can I only do that with my mobile browser?
Top left arrow or swipe will open the tabs.
You can start a thread from tapatalk, just not in the timeline or unread section, you have to go to the browse tab and pick your subsection. If you are reading a particular post in the timeline or unread feed and you have a new topic that fits with that section, to start a new thread, click the drop down menu at the top and there is a link that will take you to the browser or section, you may still have to find your subsection of interest depending on how finicky it is, sometimes the link is there, sometimes it's not. Then you can start a new thread there.
You can also go into settings and change how you read. You can set it to show the last post when you open a thread, or set it to show the last unread post, being you've visited that thread before. I'm sure there is much more.
You can also star or subscribe to sections as well as threads. When you subscribe to them, in the subscribed tab the section will be at the top, separate bars and individual subscribed threads will follow as they normally appear.
There is also a participated tab, list of threads you posted in. I nice quick way to see if you have any replies to one of your threads or follow up on something that interested you enough to comment on.
