Your water content looks to equal the amount of your oil content. I have mine at one fifth.
Has your oil completely separated out (de-emulsified)? Mine is taking forever.
not sure why you are having issues with the emulsions.
Too much carryover of 'other' stuff, and water when you pressed the tobacco is likely a major part of it.
When I press, or interface drip method, I end up with a "Crystal Clear" amber coloured oil.
sometimes, when I add the acid, i get a very thin layer of emulsion.
I'm glad you were 'lazy'. Been meaning to try it with vegetable base, but was worried about just that very thing. Glad you tried it! Now, we just await the taste test. Was a learning experience.
I will measure next time for a start. Use the right oil and be more patient at the separation stage.
However, the amber color is only in the finished product and not in the oil - i just see the faint green of the original avocado plus some, er, soap.
Is soap a reaction of a base on fatty acids - it rings a bell. I'm sure I learned this sometime long ago ...
edit : sodium hydroxide (lye) - the exact same thing ! saponification.
i was lucky then to succed while making soap at the same time
