I'm not overly patient myself, just so little time to spend on it, that at times it's days before I get back to the project at hand.

a tiny bit of base goes a long way. Take a few drops of the pure carbonate solution, and start adding acid a few drops at a time. You will be surprised at just how much it takes to get from pH 11 down to 7.
If you have any water carried over, it will be at pH11. Hence, my caution on using little water, so that the vast majority stays trapped in the tobacco matrix. you don't need much, just an abundance of free hydroxyl ions to allow the conversion. At least, that is my mental model of what's happening.

Seemed ages for the liquid to come through (it's about 80% or so VG yet surprisingly thick). vaping it now ...
It's very hard to say - i think i feel something relaxing but i might well be imagining even though i'm trying not to.
Nothing standing out atm. Nothing bad either - it's very pleasant; not that I can notice the taste particularly. Tongue tasted a micro dot and yeah there's a little of that peppery nic taste, and a bit in the vape too. I think mine is too weak to have a big impact. The relaxingness might build up over the next hour or so; will let you know.
For the record, I started with a paltry 5g tobacco and and sitting here with about 15-20 ml end-product.

"- assuming there is 200mg of alkaloids in the oil, you would add 10ml of PG to get 20mg/ml.
This stuff is way stronger than any nic juice i've tried, so I kept adding 10ml at a time, until I had 40ml. (5mg/ml assuming)
So, either I am way off in my guestimates of extraction efficiency, or the WTA is Very synergistic.
- next batch, I will just add the 40ml of pg to the 25ml of oil all at once and simplify this step further."

maybe a bit of the 'I baked these cookies myself' effect? lol
When I was experimenting with just simple extraction, and no pH adjustment, i could tell within a couple puffs there was nothing there. When you get a strong batch, you will know... there will be no doubt. It hits me behind the eyes/forehead area, a dull ache. Not a strong throat hit or anything, but definite satiation.
