I found out I never introduced myself, I thought I did but i couldn't find it anywhere, So after 10 years being here, let me tell my story.

I started smoking very early in life. I had a very adventurous childhood, a lot of fun, but that also made me start smoking at age 8. I remember hiding my cigarettes from my parents. They did not find out until i was like 16 years old. They couldn't smell it on me that easy, they both smoked a lot. So the entire house smelled like smoke. I even remember smoking an entire cheap pack of cigarettes just not to get caught with them if I took em home.

Pretty fast I learned to roll my own, which i smoked the most in my life.
I tried quitting multiple times. Tried the patches, tried the gum, these did not work. One time it went very good, I quit for over 2 years. The only reason for this working for over two years, was the rule that I promised myself I could smoke a cigar (which i did not like and almost never smoked) on special occasions. In those two years i maybe smoked 6 cigars. The point was, I smoked so long, I could hardly remember a time i did not smoke, it was my friend, it was hard to say goodbye.

And of course, one day, on a bachelors party, I got some nice drinks and smoked an entire box of cigars. From that day I was hooked again only now I smoked cigars.
I wanted to quit my entire life, I just didn't want it hard enough.

a bit more than ten years ago, I went to my special cigars shop (where, in the past, I bought some very nice special occasion cigars) to buy a pack of my moods. And there the thought popped in my head. A couple of years before this day a friend of mine used like one of those first ever e-cigarettes. I was in this specialized shop, they had a lot of stuff, so I asked if they knew anything about these electric cigarettes.

They did, they had Flavor Vapes, these colorful, a bit bigger than a cigarette, small vape. I bought two, they were like 10 Euro's each. I bought a minty one and a tobacco one. of course next to my pack of moods.
Back in my car in the parking lot, i was very curious, so I opened the vape packages. I did not know they were sold like this now.

I tried the tobacco first, It tasted like walnuts and other things, nothing like a cigarette......but.....It gave me the feel of a cigarette, in my throat. I did not like the taste, i also did not hate it and it was not strong enough. I tried the minty one. this was a nice flavor, it gave me some satisfaction, but i needed a bit more of a kick. But i was very positive, this could work!

When I came home, with my vape in my mouth, i went on the internet, specifically YouTube and wow!!

There were people with very strange vapes, bendable mouthpieces, boxes, tanks and they were testing liquids, testing flavors, what???

I found a Dutch Vape forum and with their help I ordered my first "real" vapes. I knew i had to have backups, so I bought a set of two. it has been some years ago, I think i first bought some unregulated or some spinners VV batteries, I remember having them both, with the MT3s (evod like) tanks...Was it Kangertech? With some koko juices from a Dutch shop.

It worked but I did not get my flavor. So my search continued. I found a German webshop for flavors. Club der Dampfer where i bought a ton of flavors and DIy stuff. I found a flavor (tobacco no.1 or was it 13? or both?) that gave me my first good flavor, not best, just good enough to adv and enjoy.

In the mean time i still had my pack of cigars in the cupboard, unopened. I vaped a lot, i needed it to not smoke. I bought more mods and tanks, I remember the subtank,
Then I found fasttech and bought a ton over there. It really became awesome with the Aspire Nautilus tanks. I suggested A lot of my friends and family to buy the nautilus on a Istick 20, later tc40's.

In the years after i kept buying at fasttech, maybe 100 tanks, Alot of mechs, some of the early drippers and maybe 50 of most popular but not always good mods, I did use a lot of early Kayfun Clones, but I had to have the original stuff. I got myself a original 3.1 if i am not mistaken, a Kayfun 4, Kayfun 3 mini, a Prime and a Kayfun 5, wich i still use today.
All this time with the help of forums and of course all the Youtubers. First igetcha69 and indoor smoker then Grimmgreen, Phil Busardo, Dimitris with the hard last name, Riptrippers, SMM Matt, and also a lot more! I learned so much, and these guys helped me to not smke

Yes, I am a MTL vaper, but sometimes I like to do some direct lung with some minty flavors. Only one tank worked here for me, I liked a lot of others, but I always fell back to my trusty old Horizontech Arctic. and only with some Vampire vape Heisenberg.

But my main flavor for years now, my adv. is Inawera Gold Ducat. My first reaction to it was funny, it was not very pleasant. The forum that suggested it to me said it was awesome, but when I mixed it, it was awful. Don't get me wrong, I am Dutch and love my licorice, but not in a vape. This tasted like very strong old fashion licorice. So I almost dropped it from my vapelist.

But the forum helped me, I shouldn't have mixed it at 5%, but 2%. And oh my God did that make a difference. The licorice flavor was gone now, it became this complex, hard to explain mild tobacco flavor. My mind tells me I smell raisins, vanilla, soft mild spices, honey. All falvors I only like to smell, not to eat. But in a vape, it is heavenly.

Sadly, just after my big stock up of this flavor, they changed the recipe, never tried the new version. I am curious though.

A liquid I also liked a lot was the origional Boba's Bounty, very hard to get, very expensive, but i did buy some bottles. It was awesome.

My current setup is a fixed RINCOE JELLYBOX MINI 21700. With my trusty Kayfun 5. it has a 1ohm clapton coil in it, between 17-22Watts. Still have two broken Jellyboxes in the spares bin. The plastic housings breaks of when you drop it on stone floors enough times. I fixed mine with some plastic tubes glued in, but soon I want to build or print some dual 21700 housings for it.

The best thing of this Jellybox imo is that the electric stuff is one part, I had so many mods with broken 510 connections, this is the strongest yet. Also the chip feels more powerful, it is only 80 Watts, maybe they have a better power curve. I only vape at lower wattages, but compared to a voopoo drag x plus ultimate super awesome platiunum 21700, the Jellybox just ramps the power up faster.

Ok I can go on and on, but this is it for now, better late than never.

Welcome, at long last ;), to ECF, Darksand. My story is nearly 10 years old as well. I had seen these cigarette looking 'electronic cigarettes' on store shelves for several years and every time thought to myself, "No freakin' way". I stopped into my favorite smoke shop intending to replenish my supply of coffin nails but ended up walking out with an eGo/CE4 setup and a few 10ml bottles of 'juice'.. Within hours my life changed..

I did not know much about e-cigarettes. I was skeptical, I was always under the impression the first e-cigaretts (wich looked like real ones) where on medical subscription here. Only one friend of a friend had one, didn't think much about it. Didn't hear for years about them after that. I woke up just at the right time where I could get decent kits and see the improvements every month, no week in vaping. Tried most of them and it was awesome. Also get some CE4's, didn't those have the same coils as the MT3S' and evods? Wait, no, those had the top wicks right? omg, the reminds me of the video Phill Busardo made

Sounds like a journey of a lifetime. Like your parents, my parents also smoked. I started on the things at age 11, (1972) kyping them from their packs at every opportunity. Back in 2005 I really wanted to quit. I tried everything not prescribed and prescribed. Somewhere (2008) I persued the ecig. Back then Intellicig was new and the most renowned for cig-alike. (I was involved in some vape forums back then...may have been this place. That was expensive times. The prices and the luring of cool hardware back then, I stepped back away from all of it.) Their liquids were/are the real deal. Their pure nicotine would always knock me down if I chain vaped. Fast forward to 2013, I still relied on Intellicigs juices, but had moved from the cig-alike to the ego-Ts, Aspire and Kangertech tanks, and eleaf mods. In 2018 I bought my first real Geekvape Aegis-X and had switched solely to the Aspire Nautilus. I still used the Intellicig liquid. Getting NicSick from stressing happened. That stuff kicked me hard...lol. Not haha funny. In 2023 I replaced the Aegis-X with a new one, along with dropping the Intellicig juice. From that point forward to now, I'm afflicted like a cow being led by the ring through it's nose. Kinda.

Welcome outta the hole, Mr. Groundhog.

Probably because that chip might have some kind of power booster (in some mods this boost can be set to soft, normal, hard). You can also get the same power boost with a mod that has a preheat or curve function. I love it. I prefer it over mods without it.

Yea, probably, not sure, haven't looked in the menus for ages and not even sure i changed it.
I vape the same device, tank and juice for a long time now, minor changes are easy picked up that way.

Right, the Rincoe Jellybox doesn't have that setting. I was just speculating that perhaps the Jellybox has a boost/curve function built-in to the firmware to give it that strong initial firing that you feel. But I don't really know since I don't own this mod.
