There is no such thing as an eGo with a golden trim. Joye eGos always have the silver trim and the dark clear button. Reputable vendors are a good idea to buy from – and the big China wholesalers are not exaclty known for their high quality PVs. (I buy stuff there myself, but not PVs.)

It's what I always say: Think twice if you are short on cash - trying to safe a buck with offers like these can be very expensive. And even if you can afford it - you might end up with a lot of stuff you don't really want.

I don't know. I have some Rivas (those are the ones with the gold bands). My 510 Riva had one battery go but I have 3 more. The 901 Riva kits I got from Liberty Flights (for $30.00 each) are working great. I'd have to shop around to find a Joye eGo kit for the $60.00 I paid for two of those 901 Rivas. I've read about genuine joye eGo batteries burning out too. It's all coming from China. I think it's kind of a crap shoot. For what it's worth there's a 90 day warrantee on those cheapo Liberty Flights ones.

Yes, if you want Rivas, fine - I just wouldn't exactly bet that those things at some shops are even real Rivas … and if you want an eGo, well, a Riva is not an eGo. (It's as far as I know the best of the clones, though, if not the most stylish one. Still, I prefer the eGo, after comparing them.)

eGo starter kit is 52.50$ at Heaven Gifts and 52-57$ (depending on the set-up) at Healthcabin, btw.

To me, there is a small but noticeable difference between an eGo, a Riva and an F16, when I use them with the same cart(o). And it's not just me, either - that's how I got my Rivas and F16s: From somebody who felt that difference was too great.

The basic batteries may be the same (or not), but it's the electronics in between that matter.
