Hi, Gerry H.

No, to the best of my knowledge the Beyonce will not change from watts mode into volts mode. Watts only. And not a big deal. Using watts is better for us with different ohms tanks. I like it at about 8.5 watts. So I can put on a 2.2 ohm, a 1.8 ohm or a 0.8 ohm and at 8.5 watts I'm happy. The volts will be low and high, respectively.

I just wished the Bey would remember the setting when changing attys. When you put an atty on over 1 ohm, it defaults to the corresponding wattage at 5.0 volts.
Oh, well...

Also you can't vape and do anything else. In other words, no vaping while charging, so it's not a "pass thru" device.

I guess if you are jonesing for a vape, unplug the micro USB, take a good hit or 2, then plug it back in.

I have taken attys on and off my istick without any problems. And it's been since October.

Ya, I noticed changing tanks is a problem. I powered it down last time before I switched and that seemed to work. I am disappointed with the passthru not working. I mean, that is one of the main points of buying such a device and it's advertised that it has this function...so big fail.

I have enough mods that not having a pass-thru function doesn't really matter to me. I do like the little flashlight.

Well, I like receiving what I thought I was paying for so it does matter to me. You can see here Beyang Box 30 Watt Mod - Black that the description says that you can vape while charging. I'm not blaming Eric at DV at all, I'm just saying I'm not satisfied at all. Am I dissastified enough to go thru the hassle of returning it etc.? Probably not but they won't be getting any recommendations from me either and I'll obviously complain about it here.

DV's site has wrong or outdated information. I would contact Eric and let him know. At least he can correct it for future buyers. And he might do something for you to make it right. He won't if he doesn't know.

Until yesterday, I thought it would switch VV to VW and pass thru.

And getting information and communications from China is not always goes with smoothly... :lol

I think the battery is bigger, it's not switchable from Vw to VV and you can't vape and charge.

Oh, that is not a bad price for this at all, imho...

It seem they changed a few things between 1st news and shippments.

On 1st video it was not same screen and they mentionned Switchable between VV/VW mode in video description
https://www.youtube.com/watch?x-yt-ts=1422579428&v=zQgcqVendMA&x-yt-cl=85114404
On 2nd video they talk about new 510 adjustable
https://www.youtube.com/watch?x-yt-cl=85114404&v=UgOSs7wP2Zw&x-yt-ts=1422579428#t=117
3 rd video nothing new except colors
https://www.youtube.com/watch?x-yt-ts=1422579428&v=nbOsix_vGKg&x-yt-cl=85114404
4th video explainations about power bank and overheat protection test
https://www.youtube.com/watch?x-yt-ts=1422579428&x-yt-cl=85114404&v=eYeSg_I9oto

On joy4life website they wrote samsung 2200 mAh battery and now it is a 2500mAh LG HE2.
Maybe it was supposed to be Switchable between VV/VW at beginning and they did not do it, but kept in the manual?
Never heard about passtrough too but as people were expecting something like iStick maybe they thought it was capable to do that?

After reading these have LG HE2 batteries in them, I had to look. Removed only the bottom cap, sure looks like the LG HE2 to me. While there I just had to test that reset button, all it did was reboot the device, and restarted at 30w. Lowered it to 12w and reset again, came back on at 30w, couldn't tell if anything else changed. There's some yellow tape over the end of the battery, but you can see the red cover.

This is the first video I saw with "Theresa".

I swear she calls the model "Teranese." I can't hear "Beyang". No matter. This seems to be an early prototype. It doesn't have the name on the bottom and the display is very different. LOL, this is where she want's to demonstrate Sub Ohm on the iStick vs the Beyang. She never screws in the RDA, cause it says "No Atomizer." She should have got "Low Resistance".

Regardless, she doesn't mention pass thru or shows much about the display, ie., changing wattage, switching modes. She does mention the huge waypaa.

And this is old. Several of us were informed of improvements to make it better (with more smoothly).

Thanks for posting the pic. I was sitting here last night thinking about removing the screws and taking a peek inside.

Thank you for the pic. I was hoping that my Electrical Engineer brother wouldn't have a problem swapping a battery for me when this one dies.

If he does it, he should not remove the circuit board. It will probably break the button shafts. If it's like the iStick, the black plastic over the display is what captures the buttons. Get underneath it with a sharp pic or knife and pull it away. (It's held on with a double sided tape or some glue that seems to work just once.) Then the buttons come free, then the cicuit board can be slid out. Several people have broken the buttons (yes you, PBusardo!).

But...

I'll guess you will be jonesing for the latest and greatest in a year when this battery might need changing. And the bat probably won't die, it'll just last shorter and shorter times between charges. If you remember what we had a year ago, can you imagine what we will have a year from now? Replacing the Beyang battery next year would be like getting a new hard drive for a 4 year old pc.

And thanks Killowatt. I knew, I'd bet that as soon as I mentioned not to hit the reset that some brave soul would. And thanks for reporting back!!

omg, I killed the thread!!!

Just an update after using this Beyonce for a week.

The Bad:
I found that if you take an atty off while it is sleeping, and either put it back on, like if you were refilling it, or put a different atty on OF THE SAME RESISTANCE, then she won't change the wattage to her default. If upon a click and she wakes up and detects a different resistance, then it will go to the default wattage of the atty at 5.0 volts.
When it is asleep, there is a half second lag before it fires. Like I had said, this is a lot when you are taking a 2 second draw. But I solved both of these drawbacks. I blip the button to wake it up. Then I can double check the power, and hit it with a minimal delay. And now, I'm not checking power unless I have taken the atty off.

The Ugly:
The blue paint is a bit uneven. It is very deep from the display to the skinny side. But around the battery bulge it seems to be lighter? Less deep?
The display is crooked, running downhill.
The Beyang logo on the side is also running downhill. Just a bit, but stuff is either straight or it's not.
The name. I just can't. I'll refer to it as Beyonce.

The good:
The 510 has been flawless. I have put on a Kayfun Lite, Silo Lite, vivinova-s glass, iClear 30S, Iclear x.i, a couple of drippers... All thread smoothly, make the connection and screw flush. I have had no need to touch the adjustment screw center post in the 510. And it threads for 5mm. My iStick 20w goes in the first 3, and only threads for maybe 2mm.
The paint is thick, tough and strong and I have yet to marr it. And it has more grip than the slick iStick.
It appears to be RMS tuned. I'm about a watt higher than my iStick to get the same vape.
It is very consistent from fresh off the charger to the last hit.
And ya gotta love Beyonce's curves. I could hold it all day.
Battery lasts as long if not longer than my iStick.
The flashlight. I know, right? Not that I wanted a flashlight, nor did I buy it because it had one. It isn't that bright, but when an atty or juice bottle rolls under the sofa, it comes in useful. In a week, I used it about 4 times! It's just a nice little perk.
The bright clear bigger display. Much better than the orig iStick 20.
Sub Ohm and 30 watts. OK, sorry, I haven't yet gone there. But if I get a Kanger sub for V day, it's nice to know it's there.

Bottom line? It's a cool mod for $30 or 35. I wouldn't pay more. If they could fix one thing, it's to please remember my wattage setting!!!

:)
