I stopped in at the local vape shop yesterday to pick up a couple of Aspire nautilus heads and I asked the guy what he recommended for an RBA in the 30 something dollar range. He showed me the RSST and pulled it apart to show me the coil mount and explained how it could be used with mesh or silica wicking. I looks like it will be a good choice for my first rda, but I didn't buy it until I could research it and some other alternatives.

Something I thought about later on was the way the top appeared to fit. Is it just a slip fit over the o-ring that is held in place by friction or is there a bayonet type twist mounting? Does it come apart at times when you wouldn't expect it to? I carry my mod in my jeans pocket often and don't want it coming apart and the fire button actuating and the coil burning my jeans. <G> My Provari and my nautilus coexist in a pocket without issues.

Other than that, I'm considering a purchase on the RSST.

I've borrowed the clone, and own a real Titanium Steam Turbine.

They will both work as Genisis Tanks... not much to say about that.

But the quality of fit, machining & materials is completely obvious... With the clone in your hand, it looks and feels like a dollar-store item.
Did the clone work... yes.
Did the holes line up properly, did it all screw together seamlessly, did the finish last... no.
It's not a true 1:1 clone, but that doesn't really matter at the price point.

But if cost is an issue, but still want one. They do pop up on the classifieds once in a while.

The titanium version is substantially more than the SS... but i don't ever regret my purchase.

As mentioned here and elsewhere, I drilled my RSST cap to 5/64. A lot more air than I expected. Guess I am use to sucking a clearo. I understand that I need the airflow for the hotter coil.

Then the wife complains about the whistle noise that I can't hear. She says the dogs jumped the first time I used it with the new hole. Right now I have a rubber band covering part of the hole to change the shape and cut down the flow. That stopped the noise as well.

Any ideas for a better solution?

Take a drill bit that's one size bigger than the hole and set it in the hole hit the drill for 3-5seconds you want to just step the air hole a tiny bit that will stop the whistle. That's how you can tell if someone knows what they are doing when they still a dripper cap.

I've been using the original RSST for my full time vape for months now and I love it, but I can't help thinking about the next thing, so I am looking at a Kraken clone. I like the adjustable airflow feature, but I'm not sure the clone will be as good as the original. I can't afford the real thing. I'd also like to have an AC9, but can't afford that either.

Save your pennies and get a real Kracken.... it is worth it.
My friends Kraken vapes just as well as my Steam Turbine.

IF the Kracken came in Titanium... I'd be all over it... it is just too heavy for my liking, and i have no need for the AFC.

IF you want to get it just to have it, dont bother... The RSST can hold its own ground.

Yes the rsst cap is just press fit over the gasket. On the original rsst, the cap would come off kilter on my pocket, but it's much tighter on the Pyrex version

Alrighty guys, my 22 dollar dome clone came in today! Let me tell you, if this puppy just arrived at my doorstep, I would have just assumed it was the authentic, because the fasttech clone is good. Really good. Didn't come with all the wick hole insulation options, and I had to plug one unused hole with an rsst full cap which is working fine.

Dang this sucker is BIG. with the 510 adapter and drip tip, it's probably the same length as a provari mini. With my 18650 extension cap on my full size provari, the whole thing has to approach a foot long. Madness. I drilled the primary air hole to 5/64, which took some serious work, the metal is thick.

The glass is very thin, but it came with a steel tank of your worried about that. Also came with extra o rings and a nice little box. Fit and finish is outstanding for a clone, screws are all threaded nicely and is awesome.

I set up a 2.2 ohm microcoil on 500 mesh, and I really had to fiddle with it to with out the shorts. With all that stuff going on under the hood, there isn't much room to work with.

It has temperature control. Rotate a secondary cap on top of the top cap, and your intake where the drip tip attaches rotates. Todd ecig reviews has a good demonstration of this.

I only wish it came with a standard 510 connection instead of having to use an adapter. It's designed to fit on a nemesis, thus replacing the nemesis positive cap for a hybrid look. The 510 adapter adds a good 3/4 inch. All in all a fantastic purchase
