Lately when I vape the metal drip tip gets hot.....it's an aero tank and I thought it was because I had the voltage at 4.2 on my I stick but now I have it all the way down to 3.4 and I am still getting a hot tip...anyone know what causes it. it's unflavored juice and it's been doing it with a 70vg/30pg juice and 70pg/30vg...I'm stumped!! I guess I have to go get a plastic tip that fits in. It doesn't do it on each inhale but enough to be bothersome.

Ladybear, I have switched all my drip tips to Delrin. They resist both heat and lip-gunk. Unfortunately, they pretty much only come in two colors - black and white - but, I think it's worth the tradeoff. Also nice is acrylic, though they sometimes get brittle from exposure to heat, and break. Anyway, PM me if you want some links to some inexpensive Delrin tips. =)

I missed a couple of days posting.. been dealing with this sickness that doesn't seem to want to go away. On a brighter note, I was able to vape a little bit yesterday and today. My throat is still sore, still have a nasty cough, but I can vape! :) I went 8 straight days without vaping and I missed it.

When you can't handle inhaling.... You can always vape like a tobacco pipe... Mouth only... Still get the flavor and Nic that way ;)

I'm a gunker, too. I have heard that the only preventive measure for lip gunk on metal tips is to keep the lips moisturized with lip balm; but I thought Delrin or Teflon (PTFE) tips were a much better idea. Added bonus - Delrin is much lighter than a stainless steel or brass tip, so switching can lighten your rig a bit.
