Best.CC.Fam.Pic.EVER! LOVE the penguins!!!

Is there a shadow on the brass CC, or are we seeing the patina developing?

It's the blues in the patina that are displaying light streaks. I got home so late, I didn't want to make Corey wait any longer for me to clean it.

Naut, can you describe the feel of the 7068 compared to the 7061?
Well I'd be comparing the 7068 to 7075;) There's really no difference in feel or appearance. In fact you really can't differentiate between them except for the shape of the squonk holes:) Hoping the 7068 may be a little more resistant to scratching but that remains to be seen.....after all they're both raw aluminum alloys

Do you even squonk, bro?

So, if I do finalize on aluminum, I think I want to paint it. Anyone have any suggestions for paint? Like maybe Krylon rattle cans for metal that they sell at Lowes and HD?

If was going to "colorize" an aluminum CC mod, I'd send it to OCD mods for Cerakoting.

Keep us posted, I think they would both scratch, that is what the pads are for. They work great.

Is it food safe paint? If your mod around your atty gets hot, you could emit toxins that you would breathe in directly. Something to keep in mind. Even the high temp paints you buy in rattle cans are not food safe. Cerakote (ceramic coating) is a better option.

You guys are the best. Here I am, trying to be a smart ... (frisky Friday, and work is slow!), thinking I'd get flamed for wanting to paint a CC, and you guys just try to be helpful.

I have NO intention of doing such a thing. Although I am leaning towards the idea of brass to let it patina.

I'll stop trying to cause trouble now. I'll leave that up to Bob!

It was a good dialogue though. Someone else might benefit from it.

I meant to mention that in my reply. You made good points about using food safe coatings.
