Awesome pichers, IM!!!

A black delrin, or a polished aluminum button would go well with that setup.
Progress report........
Well,...things didn't go as well as I hoped they would with the new tools...
I'll just take you through, step by step, the way I'm having to do the silver contacts...
First, I mark the rod in two places...
Then I turn down the diameter, where the threads will be....
It'd be nice to be able to thread it at this point, but since the chuck I have in the tailstock won't accept something as big as the die I'm using,...I have to cut it loose.....
that way, I can put the contact in the chuck that's in the tailstock.........
and put the die in the chuck on the headstock.....
Then,....I can finally start threadin'.....
The thing is,...I can only start the threads.... I have to back it out, and flip the die around to finish 'em off. That way I can run the threads all the way up to the base of the contact...
This is where I thought I could save some time... I ordered a pair of die holders that'll fit in the chuck on the tailstock, and a new pair of dies to go in 'em....
I figured once I turned the rod down to the right diameter for the threads...
I could just bring the tailstock in, and get to threadin'... Then, once the die bottoms out, I could just slap in the other die holder, that has the other die in it, that's already flipped around backwards,...and finish the threads off...
No frickin' bueno.....
Even though these new dies are adjustable, and I have them opened up as much as possible,...they don't wanna start on the rod until they chew on it for a minute, making the threads come out like this.....
and,...the threads are coming out undersized...
Long story short,... I've got some bugs to work out on that whole deal...
I've got a bigger chuck coming for the tailstock, so I can chuck onto the hex die I've been using, which works great for the threads, btw.... They just don't make a hex die holder, only round button die holders...
I'll still have to flip the die around, but it'll still be a little faster, since I can thread without having to first cut the part loose, and try and chuck onto the tiny little head of the contact...
I'll get it figured out,...but in the meantime,...I have to do it old school.....
More pichers to follow........
