Series is reasonably safe in a non-conductive mod body like Peter's Nutpunch -- if you keep your batteries married.

But I'd stay a good solid 10' away from anyone that tried to do the same in a conductive metal body.

Right there with you!!:thumb:

Here if we do an emergency service repair after business hours the utility will reconnect after making basic safety checks but will disconnect after the first business day without an inspector calling them.

Loving the triangle mod (my vote would be for parallel if it counts) planning on a 10ml bottle on the up sized (2x 18650 and the 26650) mods? That would me my vote as well. Ready when you are on the 26650.

Non conductive inserts in the battery tube would solve that issue....

One cell would have the negative connected to the mod case. The positive of that cell would connect to the negative of the 2nd cell for series. If the battery wrap on the 2nd cell had a tear or weak spot that allowed it's outer shell to touch the mod case it would mean that the 1st cell would have both negative and positive effectively touching the mod case which would be a direct short. With a non conducting mod case that wouldn't happen.

With a negative end down configuration, the metal body of the mod is negative, as well. The case of your battery, the part shielded by a battery wrap, is also negative. Therefore, if there is a hole in the battery wrap, and the battery case is in contact with the inside of the metal mod body, no big deal. They are electrically the same: Negative.

In series, one battery's positive is in contact with the other battery's negative.

This would mean that if the case of the 2nd battery had a break, it would be the same as touching the positive end of the 1st battery straight to the inside of the mod, which is negative. No bueno.

Thank you both for those clear explanations. For safety all i really need is a single 80A battery! ;)

As many of you know, I have been scrambling trying to get these prototypes done before the fda deadline. It may not matter, in the grand scheme of things, but I wanted to have these posted before the 9th, so I'd have them to point back to, if it ever became necessary. This way, I can show that they were "on the market" before the 9th.

I'm still working on the other two. I will have pics up asap.

Of course,...bringing them to market, and being "available right this minute, in quantity", are two very different things. I still have a waiting list that I work from. There are several good and decent people on that list, waiting for the Classic mods, who have been very patient while I've been jackin' around with these new designs. I need to get back to that list asap.

I have thousands, and thousands of dollars tied up in this little venture, at the moment. From the inventory of Classic mods that I currently have, (6061, 7068, 316SS, and now 6AL-4V Titanium), to the drawing and machine shop time invested in the prototyping of the new mods.

It's fair to say that I'm buried, financially, mentally, and physically, up to me eyeballs, presently...

I said all that to say,....I need a minute...

I'll have to get back to filling orders that are already on the books. As many here know, the MOQ on these mods is 25. That's 25 of each different material, and style. With 3 new styles, just in one material alone, that's 75 mods. Let alone discussions of different materials...

I'll do actual productions runs of the new mods when it becomes feasible. :thumb:

Right now,....yardwork!!! :(

Would you like to guess what HRH called my neighbour as he fired up his weedeater at 7:30 this morning? At least you do your yardwork at a civil hour!

Having a strong order book is a good thing isn't it even if it looks daunting just now? After all, how many of the mods you make do you think will remain unsold? i can think of a likely number.

What i find annoying with vaping at 8.4v is having to make coils differently and keep them separate.

At least with batteries in parallel you can swap atties from a single battery device to a multiple battery device and it will still work fine - the benefit is the longer battery life.

Series mods go like the clappers and you really have to be meticulous with your safety and battery care. In the evening i'll happily puff away on a series mod, but i'm not comfortable subjecting it to the same brutality of a typical Trunker workday.

BTW 2X 10 wraps of 32g and it heats up so fast you inhale before you press fire! ;)

Good point. :)

Also,...I wanted to get the yard work going at about 5 o'clock this morning...

Thought better of it, though...

So on top of everything else, you've got yard work?!?

Yessir! And,....house work, and vehicle maintenance, and a 40+ hour per week "day job", where most can't seem to figure out that they're gonna need somethin' built, until 2 hours after they should've already had it installed.... Gotta have it! Gotta have it!! Right, by god, now!!!

It's exhausting....

Much better problem to have than not enough work, though... I'll take what I can get. :D
