That's what I'm talkin' about! Please let me be the one, sittin' on a jury, where the Constitutionality of the law, that the accused supposedly broke, is in question.....
“Did you really think we want those laws observed?" said Dr. Ferris. "We want them to be broken. You'd better get it straight that it's not a bunch of boy scouts you're up against... We're after power and we mean it... There's no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren't enough criminals one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. Who wants a nation of law-abiding citizens? What's there in that for anyone? But just pass the kind of laws that can neither be observed nor enforced or objectively interpreted – and you create a nation of law-breakers – and then you cash in on guilt. Now that's the system, Mr. Reardon, that's the game, and once you understand it, you'll be much easier to deal with.”
― Ayn Rand, Atlas Shrugged
Just like the body of the mod, the question here is not so much how good a conductor the material is. There's a boatload of cross-sectional area for the currents involved. What matters here is how conductive the interface between the battery and the contact is, particularly after prolonged exposure to ambient air (and anything corrosive in that air). Silver is not only the best conductor, it's also quite good at maintaining decent interface properties after exposure to oxygen and other nasties. However in this application, where we have no make/break happening, I wonder if a brass screw plated witb something that's truly immune to oxidation and corrosion wouldn't be just as good or even better and more maintenance free in the long run?.All that said,.....brass IS a really good conductor of electrons...![]()

Yeah, that's kinda what I was thinking. Gold plating isn't all that expensive 'cause the amount of gold involved is pretty minimal.Gold plated brass???![]()
A couple of quick notes...First of all Thanks again Corey, I'm in love with the CC. This thing has one of the best go buttons I've ever had the opportunity to mash.
Second, I hit this baby with a couple of good coats of Renaissance wax straight out of the box and what little fingerprints that accumulate simply wipe right off...
Have another wee bit of news, but that'll have to wait a few days...
