Copper CC brought along a buddy from New Zealand for yard work this afternoon. Trying to beat the damn thunderstorms.

Hey, Nate!

What kin'a mower you usin'??? :?:

A bargain basement 19.5hp B&S powered Craftsman... I ride it hard and put it up wet, like most everything I own, lol. I bought it about 8 years ago and torture the hell out of it. It insists on working though which prevents me from upgrading, lol. Two acres every weekend and countless amounts of abuse from towing that trailer full of .... which it has no business towing. I'm trying to kill it, I really am - it just won't die.

Nuttin' wrong with that'n, my brother. :)

That's one of the reasons I went back with Craftsman... The new one replaced a 13 year old Craftsman DYT 4000. It was a damn good mower. Still is, as a matter of fact. I actually gave it to my ol' dad. He had a 22 year old rider, of some sort..... That thing was fallin' apart.... You shoulda seen his face when I showed up at his house with it. :)

It's super fancy, to him. Hydrostatic transmission, an' all... It was a win/win... :thumb:

Love that old guy....

I never thought to ask before but what is the purpose of those 2 long vertical holes, other than putting magnets.

I use the holes in the body to spot the location for the magnet holes, in the underside of the cap...

I put the body and cap in the vise, upside down....

...then, the body acts as a drill guide......

Mine's roughly 25 years old and not falling apart:

This is kinda like the CeeCee of mowers. 1/4" thick steel deck. Manual gearbox and separate left/right belt clutches. Kawasaki industrial engine. 48" cut.

Yeah, you gotta walk behind it. That's OK, I can use the exercise. :D

Nothin' quite like quality, built to last a lifetime gear tho, eh buddy??? ;)
Yep! The shop that sold it to me all those years ago told me it would be the last mower I'd ever have to buy. I was skeptical at the time, but so far, they've been right. I do have them service it every coupla years, whether it needs it or not. :)

Your pooch looks unimpressed, however..... :D
She's feeling a bit under the weather. She had a couple of benign fatty growths removed last week and I think the sutures in the incisions are still bothering her.

Hey, D! :D

It'll pro'ly take a week and a half, to 2 weeks to finish these three...... with the overtime at "work", an' all......

But,.....It has begun!!!

That's no problem at all, Corey. My heart just gave that little leap of excitement when I saw my nick on a SS CC :D

In fact, the timing is absolutely perfect - a couple of weeks at your end, then postage to Australia ... my 3-years-vaping anniversary is 28 June.

Poor puppy... :(

I'm glad they were benign, tho....
