Man, I love my Joye 510, but something inside my head has been making me desire a big batt PV, like an ego or Riva. I've been COMPLETELY satisfied with my Joye though, so I don't know why I long for the fat batt.

If I can find one for like $30 I might go ahead and treat myself to another xmas gift. Anyone point me in the right direction? :D

Is the Riva compatible with 510 pieces/parts? I know the ego is, but does that count for similar models across brands? That will be a HUGE deciding factor for me.

E-Liquid and Electronic Cigarette Shop - Category Listings has good prices on the Riva. I got my eGo from Abe there and i could not be happier with it.

Ditto - Five Riva sets LOL, 1 for me, 1 for backup, 3 Christmas presents - Awesome to vape all day on ONE batt. Using ego mega cartos and the batt will last longer than the 2ml one of those holds ;)

Your 510 attys will fit the 510 Riva, the kits come with one regular and one LR.

Ego and the Riva are both 510 compatible so you can use all the atomizers and carts you currently have with either. The big advantage to the bigger batts is the charge but I also notice stronger hits from the ego than I get from the 510. You can get a nice passthrough batt with removeable USB connector from Liberty flights for $25.99, you might be able to find it cheaper at other places, I bought it there a couple months ago during a promo for like $20 or so...I'll link it below. I use it around the house where I have a USB connection handy and when I want to hit the road it always has a full charge. You might want to buy a cone for it as well but it's really personal preference, it makes it look a bit nicer in my opinion and help restrict the airflow a tad so it hits a bit more slowly.

Joye eGo 650mAh Pass-Through Battery (Manual)

Electronic Cigarette - Pass-throughs - Joye eGo

The eGo cones are the second item listed on this page and they range in price from $2.79 for black to $4.09 for all other colors
Electronic Cigarette - Atomizers & Cones - Joye eGo - XL

There are a ton of other vendors out there so feel free to look around, I only linked Liberty Flights because that's where I bought my eGo pass through batt and it's been working great for several weeks so far and they have good reviews on this message board.

Libarty Flights has Riva kits for 29.99 with the 20% off. 2 batteries 2 atomizers 2.2 ohms 1 cone 1 USB charger blank carts be sure to click the 20% off at the top right
Electronic Cigarette - Starter Kits - Riva 510

Your 510 parts will work with it besides maybe the charger. But you get one that will with the kit so not a big deal

I'm ordering an eGo myself, this weekend. I already have 510 parts, so I'm only buying a cone, a drip tip, and a PT battery. The cord is removable and it functions like any other battery, and with how long the battery lasts, I figure I won't ever need more than one charge. So altogether, it's going to cost me $24.85 plus shipping to upgrade. And that's off Liberty Flights with a 20% discount code ("ecf" iirc, but the discount list appears to be down).

I'll probably buy another battery or two at some point, and maybe try the mega atomizer... But I think that's a pretty good price to try out a new model.

Many people have reported that using LR atties on any of the eGo clones is not a good idea. It's not that the battery goes bad it's the Mosfet switch that can't handle the extra drain. For the life of me I don't understand why they would bundle a Riva with LR atties. If you use LR atties you really should be using at a minimum 14500 batteries.

What do you think about using the Ego PT on the Riva?

Well, the Riva uses all 510 parts outside of the battery. And given that the PT replaces the battery, it'd just be an eGo. The eGo has a special atomizer and cartomizer for it, but they're not sold in starter kits or used more than the 510 atomizer. They're just kind of an extra option, and one that the Riva didn't replicate. Though that said, my understanding is that the eGo cartomizers/mega atomizers are compatible with the Riva battery, but that's not what you were talking about.
