OK, there ARE several members on here that MAY be able to help you...

dedmonwakin - he has a brother in law in Okinawa
jboze - he's in Hokkaido
drakefire - he's in the Forces and looks like he's in Okinawa as well.

Jboze says that there IS a Japanese Forum, but it's all IN Japanese.
