Even when my daughter was younger, she immediately understood what it was when I described it as a "pretend cigarette"--even a child can appreciate how "pretending to smoke" is safer than smoking. For smokers, it almost doesn't matter WHAT you call it until they actually try one.

It's pretty PC to use a PC...

As a new vapor, I admit it was the phraseology "e-cig" that got my attention and something that I'd heard numerous times previously. If PV had been used it would not have made a "connection" for me.

As others have mentioned though, depending on the situation I am in, that will dictate the verbiage I will use. In a confrontational situation in public, I would most likely use PV or just vaporizer. In speaking with someone who is sincerely interested, especially a smoker, I would use "e-cig" and as fully as possible explain the benefits. And although I know it cannot be marketed as a "smoking cessation device", I can and will happily tell people that I have not had an analog (or traditional cig to the uninitiated) since my first vape.

Big tobacco will definitely jump on the vape bandwagon. and i hope they do. I use to do snus and when that became remotely popular, camel and marlboro had their versions out (low nicotine BS of coarse)

They will want a company with the most well known name in the community (they won't give a .... about which is the best vape, just the name) So thats gonna be njoy or Blu since their ad campaign is .... all attractive.
