Just curious if any of you ever worry about Bisphenol A (The chemical know to cause cancer found in almost all plastics) that we may inhale while vaping. Many of our E-cig hardware parts are made of plastics that would obviously contain BISPHENOL A and we are inhaling it. I won't get into details about BISPHENOL A (I suggest you google it before replying) but it's found in most if not all plastics and it's a known fact that it causes cancer and there are many articles that suggest it may be one of the leading causes of cancer. I'm just curious if anyone else thinks about this stuff ........ I do all the time.

.......... and YES, vaping is better than smoking. This isn't meant to be a flame war. I vape my face off 24/7

It's a good point and worth consideration IMO. It has been discussed on ECF before. For convenience, here is a link to the wiki Bisphenol A - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I also note that many of the juice vendors state they use PET bottles or glass. Also, I use metal atomizers, although not all my tips/carts are of known plastic types. Who knows what all the stuff is stored in before they mix it.

IDK about all those 2 liter bottles I drink stuff from either, but probably OK (now).....

Not sure what to think about it all. It does make it look like polycarbonate tanks could pose a higher risk than others. How much so? Impossible to say.

In my own opinion, I've given up worrying about stuff like that. It's a known fact that the biggest single danger associated with living is death. Something that can't be avoided.

I gave up caring when everytime a study was published on a known cancer causing agent, another study would come out promoting it as a known health benefit.

Not trying to make light of it, just beyond worrying abut it anymore.

Reminds me of when I decided to start eating healthier. I switched over to soups to take to work for lunch. I figured I'd get more vegetables, less meats and fats, and some decent vitamins. Not long after I switched, this report comes out...

BPA levels soar after eating canned soup: Study - HealthPop - CBS News

Turns out the stuff is in almost everything, linings of canned foods, wine, toilet paper, soft drinks, you name it.

Looking at this, I'm not very concerned about BPA. There's lots of stuff I come in contact with that's a lot worse. Backup ANYTHING you read about in wikipedia with an alternate source before you get worked up about it. It's loaded with opinions stated as facts and slanted viewpoints.

National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (BPA)

Conclusions from studies so far:

The NTP has some concern for effects on the brain, behavior, and prostate gland in fetuses, infants, and children at current human exposures to bisphenol A.

The NTP has minimal concern for effects on the mammary gland and an earlier age for puberty for females in fetuses, infants, and children at current human exposures to bisphenol A.

The NTP has negligible concern that exposure of pregnant women to bisphenol A will result in fetal or neonatal mortality, birth defects, or reduced birth weight and growth in their offspring.

The NTP has negligible concern that exposure to bisphenol A will cause reproductive effects in non-occupationally exposed adults and minimal concern for workers exposed to higher levels in occupational settings.

Doesn't sound all that bad to me. No mention of cancer no known serious toxic effect. Even for fetuses, it not a serious concern. Sounds about as bad as Sweet-N-Low.
