Another former cigarette smoker here. I can attest to the yuckies that come up in mucus after you haven't smoked tobacco cigarettes for a bit. Everyone is different and there are a lot of factors at play that can determine if or how much it will happen to you, but it's not abnormal. Just your body getting rid of the gunk you're no longer putting in it.

I searched Google but all I got was all sorts of nasty ailments and was starting to feel like I had 36 of them.

Went to DuckDuckGo and feel much better now!!!

Phew, close call. :D

Afternoon everyone or morning/night
Just a quick question Is black/brown spots in mucus and in snot normal 1 month later after not smoking? I get overly worried about these type of things just want to make sure its nothing out of the ordinary. :)

Hope everyone is having a good day!
I used to call them lung cookies.:)

Someone already posted it... there are several things that happen when switching from smoking to vaping (I still have a friend that I'm trying to convert but she says vaping makes her cough (or could it be the cigs and blame it on vaping) It's a transition thing (believe me, and I have been back an forth between vaping that I love, and smoking that I hate but still do) there is no doubt that vaping is so much better (after 8 months just vaping, my doctor told me my lungs were great even oxygen reading was really good) Now I have slipped back into dual use and hate myself (still love vaping more so determined to quit the natsties) I remember those days (switching) and it is confusing, but I can tell you my lungs felt so mush better, I didn't miss the nasty smell, my doc used to say my lungs are fine and now here I am dual using (long story...) It's worth it... stay with it. I'm afraid to to go back to the doc... he might tell me my lungs are F*t. Sorry... not the best pep talk but real... do anything to stay off the smokes.

Yeah, I'm pretty passionate about staying off the cigs now, I just miss the actual act of pulling out a lighter and smoking a good old dart haha. It got easier after the first month It's just whenever I am stressed all I can think is about is having a nice cig but I just crack open a beer and that seems to help. (I keep it moderate) Good luck quitting you got this.:toast:

You may want to consider buying a refillable, auto draw cigalike for those times, if you can never seem to curb that particular aspect of this addiction.

Just don't accidentally chuck it out the car window like I almost did in the early days. LOL

You, too? I also partially melted the tip on 2 cigalikes trying to light them up with my lighter. That was back in the day when I was dual using because cigalikes just weren't cutting it for me.

I can't say if it's normal for everyone but it's absolutely normal for me every single time I stopped smoking I would have that start to happen I think it was usually around the 2-week mark and it would go to a couple months and then everything would clear up completely until I started smoking again and then once I quit it would happen again
