So as soon as it's back in stock think I'll be sitting one of these gorgeous mechs. I plan to run it with a dual coil something (suggestions welcome) at 1.1 to 1.3 ohm. I'll also be getting two maybe three sony vtc5's and possibly a two cent fuse just for peace of mind. Anyone have a stingray that can give me the pros and cons of what I should expect from it? This will be my first mech btw. :)

Can't answer any questions for you, but I went to my local B&M last Friday, and really liked the looks of it, so I bought one. Got it home and couldn't get my AGA-T2 to fire on it. Took it back, and let the shop people fool with it, and they couldn't get it to fire either, and they tried 2 other Stingrays. So I ended up getting something else. :(

I don't own a Stingray myself, but people do seem to love them. It sounds like you're doing all the right things though as a first-time mechanical user (not trying to go super sub-ohm, using a fuse, VTC5's, etc....). You know if you're looking to build in the 1.1-1.3 Ohm range, then you might want to go with a Kick instead of a fuse. A Kick will give you some level of protection (short circuit prot., low battery shutoff, etc), and on top of that will let you adjust your wattage up to 15 Watts.....

Although I don't know if you can run an 18650 with a kick on the Stingray....may want to double check on that.....

It's a good beginner mech mod for sure, however, it does have it's chronic switch problems. It's really hit and miss. My friend's has worked flawlessly, and I've seen people on here having complete nightmares.

The black pieces of this mod are easily scratch-able and need to be babied. It sure does look nice though.

Make sure you do your research on safety protocols for mech mods.

I've been on provari's my entire vape career because I've been afraid of mechs. Heard a lot of horror stories about shorts and what not. Kind of my last set if research was asking questions about the one I'm interested in on here. Also why I'm going to be in the upper ohm range. I really have no desire to chase clouds or get unstabley low on the ohms. In regards to a kick I thought about one but pbusardos review if a kick in the ray turned me off to the idea. I figured the 2 cent fuse while not as many features of the kick, would at least allow some protection and still give me the ability to run 18650. What's the switch issue you mentioned?
