I've been smokin normal cigarettes for a long time and have never seen mucus that looks like the .... i've been coughing up since i got my 510. Has anyone else noticed this? Perhaps I try different juice suppliers? Also The juice im using right now seems like it's drying up faster than it should normally. The pre-filled carts lasted apprx 1hour longer than the ones i fill myself.

Hey cappy, welcome to ECF!

It sounds to me like your lungs are clearing. Coughing up some horrible-looking stuff is not unusual. It's probably tar.

If you've switched to e-cigs within the last few weeks, I'd bet money that's what it is.

I also seem to get different results with pre-filled cartos vs. ones I filled myself. You may try letting it soak in a bit, and then adding a couple more drops if you can.

Hi Cappy! I haven't been vaping long enough to have that happen yet, but I can say that years ago one of the times I quit smoking (I made it 4 years that time) that happened to me. Several weeks after I quit I started coughing some pretty gross stuff...it was scary but I figured it was normal. Just to be sure, I checked with my doctor and she concurred.

You might also want to check with your doc...he or she will probably be thrilled you are no longer smoking and be glad to answer any questions!

Brown mottled sputum isn't uncommon. Black could be a sign that something is up. I'd suggest seeing your physician as soon as you can just to rule out any problems.

As far as the cartridges go, when you refill them yourself it can change since either the polyfill compacts or if you've changed it you may have added a bit too much and not as much liquid is being held by the cartridge now. It is the biggest PIA of e-cigs and that's why most of us switch to another cartridge filler like AquaClear foam, PTB, MarineLand blue foam or fluvial.

Dripping can eliminate all that futzing around with cartridges. Drip tips rock!

See a doctor and be sure please.
As far as carts, I have been finding that fillimg one and letting it set for half hour or even much longer they seem to settle and work better for me.

I save those caps that come with the carts and will fill a few carts with different flavors before bed so they can settle over night.
When I drag on them in the morning the pull and vape is a lot better than when I use a cart just after filling, YMMV.

Please see your physician about the mucus, better safe than sorry. And let us know what they say.
