I know that there is an original stingray. I'm talking about the 26650 version in particular

Personally i'd look into the all copper one or the all copper Hades. I'm skeptical of how well that black finish will last. If you decide you would like the copper hades let me know and i will put in a link. They go for like $45.00 pre order. They won't be out until mid May. FYI I originally ordered the black big boy stingray that uses the 26650 battery but canceled it and ordered the Hades because i was worried how well the finish would hold up.

Do you see the part of the engraving they didn't paint.

I'm just worried about how they are going to be. I'd rather have a black Stingray then the hades but I don't want it to be a crap mod

FYI, I have both the Hades mod and the Stingray 26650 mod (black), both clones. The Hades is much better in terms of quality. The threads on the Stingray are horrible, and my locking ring siezed up against the battery tube, can't free it. I've already damaged it slightly trying to loosen it. Not a huge deal, I just can't lock it. They both take some setup to get the battery fit right, and they both hit about the same. The Stingray has a larger diameter than the Hades, and actually dwarfs it a bit. Overall, they function the same, but the Hades quality is better. The magnetic switch in the Stingray also isn't very smooth, but it's much easier to press than the Hades.

The dreadnaut in my avatar is a beast. Although a hybrid, the build deck and juice well are huge. Worked flawlessly from the start, dual, quad, quad verticle, and single coils. It's easy to build and in an emergency can be used as a 1 pound brass and stainless steel blackjack. It is however pricy. Got mine from the first production batch at $250.
