You can't use the atomz cartomizer on a standard protege 901 adapter there's no predrilled hole in the middle of the adapter. You need to upgrade to the newer kr808d-1/901 adapter for the protege. I should know i've already tried it..

Yeah if you got an earlier protege/PT you will have to order a new adapter, i am not sure at what point they became one in the same for PS.

You can always do the 901 adapter mod and place a slice in it with the Dremel.
Down the middle and one side only is what I've found works best.
Very comparable to the drilled version. (Had a bunch of older adapters)
And... The carts/atomz work great at 5v. They're pretty much all I use now. 3.7 - 5v

i think the cartomizers work BEST on my prodigy v2 - much less drag time... but i have the ace kit for when i goto parties and such where i wouldn't want to lose my protege/prodigy etc...
cool idea on the syringe - i just drip in them and swing the cartomizer around... the syringe method would probably work best... it would make sure the liquid spreads out right in there... i've burned a couple because i filled then starting puffing off the same cartomizer - it's best to let them sit for a while before starting to puff if you drip into them.
some people rinse out cartos - i've tried with some success but it only expands the life a couple more uses - it's the carbon build up on the coil inside that really messes it up... i verified that in a couple that i've dissected ...

They don't really leak but they come with rubber caps for the top and bottom. They're very pocketable.
