I have used the same Aerotank base on my Provari since day one. Recently, it appears that how tight that base is screwed on appears to be a moving target. The past two days, it seems like it will only fire when it is loose and wobly whereas before that, I could screw it down snug and would have no issues.

I would have chalked it up to a horrible memory on my part but last night, my IGO was having the same issue.........and I got the blink-ee.

Thoughts?

I don't have an answer - but I have an Aerotank base i use on ProTanks, and it connects PERFECT - no need to leave it loose, and never failed to make a connection. Your is the first instance I've seen where it's a problem...
ProTank bases - SURE, lots of people had issues - but the Aerotank base USUALLY fixes it.

And the iGo is also a known bit of a problem - because you CAN adjust the pin, but have to like take off the center post and push down to do it (or something like that).

I think PROBABLY that's the issue - both of those units lack an easily adjustable 510 pin...which is kind of helpful with a ProVari, unless you get lucky (or use cartos).

bump.............

This thing is starting to be annoying. I think I might have just seen the dreaded E8 error.

I knocked mine over on my desk earlier tonight (yeah, really need to devise a stand, here)..

Was getting a few E1s & a couple E8s afterwards...

Unscrewed the iClear 30 from the ProVari & unscrewed/re-screwed the clearo head..

Filled up with juice again, no more errors since..

Might or might not help...

I ordered a couple extra aero tank bases. On one, out of the three I have, the center pin/battery contact, is not sitting level. So if I set it down on the counter with the tank on it, it falls over. I can use my finger to adjust it... and it looks like it's been indented/pressed in a bit. Maybe your center pin has depressed/recessed within the base? I dunno, my observation kinda doesn't make sense if it fires better when wobbly...

I have not actually cleaned my Provari, which is weird because I am usually good for that but she is only about a month and a half old. However, I did clean her today so we will see if that fixes it.

Last night, I had to adjust the center pin on my Kayfun which I have never had to do so I don't know what is going on. The battery post would have to go up, no be pressed down to have the issue I am having. I am just sick of seeing that stupid button blink.

EDIT: I also almost never turn her off.............didn't know if that was a problem but figured I would throw that in.

1.5 months?? That thing was long overdue for a cleaning!

I hope you cleaned everything really well, especially the internal contact pin and all the threads at the bottom areas (including end-caps & springs)..

I assume you also put some Noalox / Ox-Gard on all the bottom threads after?

what is Noalox and what does it do. never did anything with my threads before or knew I needed to.

EDIT: never mind...............I did this thing called "searching", I think the "A" is silent and did this other thing called, reading........the "A" may be long or short, not sure but I found the answer. :)

You can get Noalox or Ox-Gard in the electrical section at Home Depot / Lowe's / whatever..

Obviously also online, including at ProVape..

Only runs a few bucks for a small bottle.. you really don't need much

Ed has a pretty good blog on it...

From what I remember, ProVape puts some on the threads before shipping.. But that doesn't last forever, especially after a good cleaning or two...

Hi Drummerskey. We actually suggest weekly cleaning. Every time a fresh battery is put in the ProVari, arcing occurs between the battery and the contact. This creates oxidization that leaves a carbon build up on the contact. This carbon will prevent the ProVari from working properly since it lacks a good connection with the battery. The signs of this can be: intermittent firing, early low battery warning, random errors, rapid flashing light etc. This video is also very helpful in explaining how to clean the contacts: ProVari Electronic Cigarette Maintenance - YouTube. Hope this helps :)
