Don't stress on the quitting. It's a great, healthy goal, but you're NOT FAILING if you've smoked even one less analog than normal. You will get nothing but support, here, if you're just trying.

In retrospect, I feel pretty silly for getting upset over having to buy a few extra "last" packs because my first order came later than I was expecting. This product was absolutely worth the wait, and more. As it is, I have a half pack rotting out on the porch through the ugly winter weather the last 4 weeks. In my analog days, if I was craving, I'd have snatched those cigs up without a second though, just the way they are now, and been happy to smoke them. Now, I only remember them when I'm bothered to talk about them being out there, rotting away.

But, with just as many people who are able to quit analogs day one, there are just as many who work to keep their analog intake to the barest minimum. And there are plenty who don't want to quit analogs, but just prefer the healthier alternative to be available.

Don't stress it. If you're trying to quit, then you've won if you've just smoked less.

I totally agree with Kembial. It's going to be different for everybody. I had no intentions of quitting, didn't set a date or anything. I know if I do that I will fail, then feel bad for being weak. All I wanted to do was try one (e-cig). Found out it was better than I expected. So supplemented my analogs with it. I was thrilled when I only smoked a 1/2 pack in a day instead of a whole one. Any cigarette not smoked was a victory. And a short time later, without actually trying, it just happened... I went a whole week without an analog. First time in 35+ yrs! I've had a few since then, a couple just out of curiosity (what would it taste like now?) and a few after one really bad day at work. And if I was to have another tomorrow, that's OK too. I'm not going to beat myself up because the accomplishment far outweighs the occasional cheat. Plus I've never been real good about being told I can't do/have something, even if I'm telling it to myself. LOL

I've sucked in a few drops after my very first refilling attempts. That was from overfilling, impatience, and general newb'ness, on my part, though.

More common, however, and equal on prefill's, all that trace vapor eventually condenses on the plastic/rubber/whatever tip. I get an occasional accidental lick of liquid.
Since I refill, and always have tissue on hand, it's usually no big deal to pop the cap and give it a quick wipe.

Ditto... on the prefilled you'll get the occasional drop, so I just keep a tissue folded up on the desk and dab it as needed. I used to be totally paranoid about juice -- didn't want so much as a drop on my finger for fear of nicotine poisoning, let alone in my mouth!! It just tastes nasty, but I'm still alive to talk about it :)

If you mean actual drops coming from inside the carto, then you might be facing a new mishap with the mechanical filling process. That's what QA is for, but let's face it, I've never met a QA that was absolutely 100%. Things slip through, and I can easily imagine with the rush to restock, some things are going to pop up.

My suggestion for a possible fix: take the batt-end condom, put it firmly into the batt-end of the carto, and give it a good few shakes, or a light spin to force the juice further into the filler. Not too vigorous, as I've actually had juice leak out from a good spin, even with the plug in the batt-hole of the carto.

Else, you may be trying to gun it like you would an analog, and sucking up juice? Bloogs are happier with a softer, longer draw. It takes some acclimating, but I easily hit the cut-off on any juice that isn't too harsh for a full inhale.

Maybe I'm weird, but I don't mind an occasional vape with some liquid in it if it's menthol. :) I don't have broad experience with juices, but when I got my ecigs, I bought all V4L's various menthol sampler pack. I like the Nuport. It's not really the real thing, but it's a nice smooth menthol especially if vaping has dried your throat. Cowboy Menthol has a bit more of a "tobacco" taste, or it's at least a bit harsher (in a good way), and goes great with the morning coffee. The Kant menthol wasn't too bad either.

As you've already found out, dehydration is an issue. I've always been a dehydrated person so vaping caused a sore throat for the first few weeks. As mentioned, drink lots of water and have a cough drop or two. It will pass. Be aware that some flavors might taste really good, but won't agree with your body and will cause your lungs to feel tight/inflamed. Pick something else. My wife and I had bouts of shoulder and neck stiffness/pain for the first month. Odd, but it passes. Oh, and I haven't seen it mentioned here yet... Gas. Lots of gas for a couple weeks. Make your dog leave the room gas. Literally make your wife puke on two occasions gas. It too will pass. No pun intended. :D

Hah. I was pretty sure it was just the new delicious foods I was able to taste and enjoy now... causing all that killer gas!

As for nic liquid concerns, I wouldn't worry about the odd drop from a carto. To get risky, you'd probably have to pull out the filler and squeeze it into your mouth. Worse would be to chug some plain refilling liquid. The real concern would be handling high concentration nic liquid when you're doing DIY mixing.

I've disassembled the cartos so many times I got tired of wearing gloves or obsessively jumping up and washing my hands every time they got wet. I've had my fingers covered in juice (18mg) for 10+ minutes and haven't had any ill effects. I don't recommend slathering yourself with it, but a few drips in the mouth or on your hands isn't likely to cause any problems.

great advice, appreciate the kind words. question for everyone. anyone notice liquid coming up to the drip tip on any of their carts? I literally just got liquid nic on my tongue, and its numb... and im a little weirded out. is this normal? Lol

Make sure you're holding it slightly down from horizontal. I've vaped laying in bed and forgot to hold it that way and gotten a mouthful of juice (yuck). Some people tip their analogs up when they smoke, but that's a no-no with cartos.

Please zeromisfit999, don't get discouraged or beat yourself up about the analogs. Just keep reading Kembial's post above (#21 in this thread).

One thing I have done that might help with the liquid-in-the-mouth issue and the hot carto; I take the condom cover that comes on the mouth-end of the cartomizer and punch a hole in the center of it. I put that over the mouth-end of the carto, right over the little rubber drip tip or cap. Then I vape through that. It is an additional barrier from the liquid, protects my lips from the carto temperature, plus it's more comfortable for me to bite on than the metal when I want to vape hands-free. Just an idea.

Hang in there, and good luck.
