Things have been looking up around here (at least to me) and I figured I would come back with a hardware review!

The device Du Jour is the Bloog Maxx Fusion, and I have a LOT to say about this little bad boy.

Bloog Maxx Fusion

Right out of the box, I was impressed with the batteries. They feel like they are high quality if that makes sense. I have owned a 510 and an E9 in the past and both batteries were very light and felt "cheap" but not these batteries.

PCC

At first I was honestly a little disappointed with the PCC. I thought it would be a much harder plastic and a lot more durable, so I doubt I could drop this PCC and expect it to keep working after-wards.

After giving the PCC a full 8 hour charge though, it started to shine. I like that I can check the charge level of my battery and my PCC on the fly and it really does last me a whole day. I never put my fully assembled e-cig in the PCC either, I just use the space for extra cartos. I can only fit 2 and there is a little extra space, so I can leave a second 510 drip tip on one of the cartos.

Batteries

Hands down the best automatic battery I have ever used. It does have a 5 second cutoff, but I find myself only needing 3-4 second puffs on it anyway. The switch is amazingly responsive as well! In order to truly appreciate how sensitive this switch is, you have to experience it for yourself. These batteries have a little more heft than their competitors counterparts but are still much lighter than an eGo.

Cartomizers

These cartos are just phenomenal. Following Jack's advice, I removed the top plug, slowly put in 30 drops (rotating it slowly and filling by dripping on the batting) and gently blew out any extra juice in every last carto I have filled. I'm very careful about removing the carto from my battery before I re-fill it because I just know as a dripper I will go insane on it and fry a switch, lol. These cartos are lasting me 2 days (or 10 fills) with dedicated use before they start to taste funny. Keep in mind I am a heavy vaper.

Vapour Production

A very high quality vape. I have been using this device exclusively for 3 days and don't really miss my Icon. I have dripped recently and of course dripping is always much better, but the Max Fusion is still great. Better flavour than the eGo-T, better vapour, and still lasts me a whole day.

Final Words

I am still impressed with it today because not only does it vape great but as I type this with both hands, I am vaping at the same time. I was missing the hands-free option I had while I was a smoker and I finally have that back!

This would be a great unit for anyone who wants a cigarette-like device. It performs better than any other carto I have used and I've been on a long trek to find a good carto (808, E9, Boge 510, Joye 510, and CE2). While the cartos are more expensive, I don't mind much it is worth it to me.

Thanks for reading:vapor:

So before I go to bed I figured I would post an update (The bloog is still awesome, I think I saw a knock off called the Volt out there) and details of a technique I'm trying to save some cash on cartos.

I just boiled out 8 cartos some are newer, but 5 of them are heavily used to the point of either tasting burnt or skunky. I should also mention that I vaped dark juices in a few of these cartos, so they looked brown and burned as well.

I used this method;

The smell really fills the place up, so I was smelling Maple, Strawberry Kiwi and Cigar quite strongly during the first boil, second boil wasn't anywhere near as bad. You can tell the second boil is the "rinse cycle" because the water stays clean and clear.

Overall I will have to wait and see if I have ruined 3 kinda good cartos, or alternatively saved 5 soon to be trash items.

The best part so far is how the Carto looks after it has been fully boiled. Almost Brand new! I was very surprised to see I couldn't tell which carto was newer or older.

I'll leave them to dry during my sleep and see how it goes in the morning

Noiz, I've tried the boiling route (on regular 808 cartos) with varying degrees of success. I think that the next time I attempt it (using the method above), I will add in a step....the reverse-taryn spin, just to get as much water out of the cleaned cartos as possible, before I set them to dry.

Keep us posted!

well they really do need some time to dry, I figure I will leave them for another 12 hours at least and they should be perfect.

I tried filling one when I first got up in the morning and it did vape a little, but the vapor is obviously being snuffed out by a little extra water.

So just leaving them overnight isn't enough, you have to leave them for at very least a whole 24 hours

After they cooled down a bit did you blow them out (I usually do it over a sink, and thru the battery end with no cap on)? Never had one of mine take that long to dry, but its different hardware so there might be some quirks.

Yep, I made sure after I boiled and rinsed them that I blew them out from the Threaded end. I kept blowing until no more water came out, gave the cartos a few good flicks and set them mouth piece end down on some paper towel after I could get no more water out.

The carto did vape when I tried it this morning, but nowhere near a new carto. So I assume it is just a bit wet still and needs some more time.

I've used many cartos but none of them were worth boiling before the Maxx Fusion IMO so this is really a first for me. Seems like a bit of a pain just to save a couple bucks worth of cartos but we'll see if it is really worth it.

Yeah works fine on my 510 cartos I just pull the wrapper off first cause its gonna go usualy, do the bloogs have wrappers or are they painted?

The Bloogs have stickers the same as 510 cartos and 808's. Even has the same adhesive under the sticker. I noticed that after I boiled the cartos that they started to fade so I just removed the stickers and rubbed off the adhesive with some Isopropyl Alcohol

Yeah when I do em in bulk usualy bout 80% recover and work well, the rest I just chuck, may seem like a waste of time to some folks but a penny saved is a penny earned and its really not that much effort to go to.

Heck even with occaissonal recovery operations and all the other weird ecig maint its still less work than analogue rollies.

Honestly, I like the bloog so much, my 510's and EV torch serve as backups when I just want to remind myself how much BETTER the MF really is.

I think my next 50 posts for anything PV related will read like this:

"Why did you already waste money..? Forget about your problems - get a bloog. Yes, it's THAT good. Peace!"

I shall insert this into random tech questions everywhere and see how many people I can piss off today :D
