Yeah, their marketing department sucks more than a little. I ordered mine on 6/23 and received it yesterday(7/30)... six weeks and a day. Here's the thing, though. I really like it. It tastes good, good vapor production, my battery hasn't pooped out on me yet and I started using it yesterday evening around 7 or so(of course I slept for 7 hours in there) but still. There's a good chance that I'm such a novice that I don't know any better, this is my first e-cig and all, but I'm really liking it. Is there a chance that inconsistencies in their product could produce better ones and worse ones? I ask because my wife liked mine enough that she wants me to order her one, and I want to make sure she doesn't end up with a crappy one.

Evan, just enjoy your Blu. If you like it, that's all that matters. Truth is, if they get things rolling, I think I will buy one too. I already have a Janty Stick, a Janty Dura, and a VX2, so I am no novice. I would love to hear that Blu is great cause I love their packaging. There is an abundance of snobbery here on the board from people who believe that their product is the only great one out there. I try to look beyond the prejudice and buy what appeals to me. I love it when that works out as it has for you. Let us know how you are liking it in a couple of weeks, and if all goes well for Blu after the shipping mess; I'll probably spring for one myself.

yeah I mean if you like it then by all means go Blu.... My girl actually loves the thing. But shes a light smoker anyways, maybe 2 - 4 analogs a day. I feel like I need a bigger hitter though considering Im used to 25 - 30 analogs a day. Im not tryin to bash Blu ( I love their customer service) and i'll probably keep mine for my girl. But the Blu just hasnt made me happy. Maybe I got a Bad Box. :(

PS just tried the e liquid and it didnt make a noticeable difference ( 36mg Nic)

I just got mine Blu Cig today. I have waited over a month for it to get here and they never gave me the shipping info. they promised. So far this thing sucks. I have never had an E cig before but I was expecting to actually get some vapor but thins thing just isn't producing. I hope it gets better but I doubt it. I wouldn't reccomend getting one.

I returned the Blu for reasons mentioned by others on this thread. I got a 901 from E-Smokey Treats instead. It arrived in 3 days and I am very happy with it. I found that the 901 battery lasts about 5 or 6 times longer than the Blu, so you can carry the Blu and bother yourself with recharging it, or you can just carry a 901. One battery life would last you just as long.

I bet you anything someone from the company put that first post on this forum. Blu Is a joke. It's the worst product ive come in contact with and believe me i sell ecigs. Ive sold all the m series which are great btw. I sell the 510 which if you like the manual switches is an awsome product. Even the 901s are better. Blu's company couldn't keep up with the business that their advertising generated. Not only does the company have terrible customer service but the batteries malfunctioned out of the box. "Leds would pulse at full charge while dragging." The batts life is terrible even for a mini. their so called 75 cig carts is a big joke. and don't even get me started on how bad their atomizers are. If they are not made to e-drip then they are worthless. e-dripping and refilling is the only way to save money on these things which is what its all about. their only saving grace is their pack which still dosen't do what its supposed to. Now you can get epacks for all m series and joy510s not to mention the 4081s. So why even bother with their crappy wait time when i can get any of the e-cigs i sell from china in 5 days for 23 dollars a kit. I give blu a 1/10 for over all score. I mean what company has a customer service dpt. that has no idea what is going on in shipping. I laugh at their idea of a structured business. A 3 yr old could do better about supply and demand. I say meh!! to blu and I'll take as many people with me as i can.........

just like the previous posts, I ordered a blu and had to wait nearly a month to get it. I was so excited because it was my first e-cig. When I first got it, it seemed ok, but the battery life was very annoying. I was afraid to vape it in public because roughly half the time nothing would come out and I would look like an idiot trying to get the damned thing to work. The battery lasted maybe an hour, and then it was back to the charger for 2 hours (the recommended time).

The frickin charger blinked! It didn't turn a solid color when it was ready, instead it frickin blinks through the whole process at seemingly random intervals. I called them and asked about it and it's apparently supposed to do that! Even after leaving the thing plugged in for 3 hours it would blink red, then blue, then red, over and over etc. VERY AGGRAVATING

The vapor was pathetic. Maybe one or two puffs on a new cart and it was out. I checked the filling and noticed two things:
1. Half the carts were filled with ridiculously small amounts of stuffing
2. All the carts were at least 3/4ths full when they stopped giving vapor

after burning through the entire carton in about two weeks (vaping LIGHTLY, mind you), I ordered some equid to try and salvage it, and when I got it, I filled the carts back up. Vapor production still sucked! The only way i could get half-decent vapor production was to take the stuffing out of several carts and put them into one. Even then a good 1/2 of the cart went unused.

As for the most defining feature of blu - the charge pack -, I can say it's also terrible. The blinking problem with the wall-charger was also "featured" on the blu-pack. That annoying blue blinking light (which, by the way is ridiculously BRIGHT) blinks on and off for the entirety of the charge, and even when it's fully charged. The batteries on the blu are also far too sensitive. Forget vaping outside if it's even a little breezy. Even snapping the lid to the blu-pack open and closed activates the battery (which nearly burned me when I was absent-mindedly snapping it open and closed).

I finally had enough, and after doing a little research I came upon this site, and found dozens of other people who were also very dissatisfied with their experiences with blu. I decided to sell my blu and buy a 510. I haven't looked back since.

Summation: Blu is a company of swindlers. Looks pretty, works like crap. Save your money, DO YOUR RESEARCH. DON'T BUY BLU!!:grr:

Okay, so i got my Blu yesterday. My initial reaction to it: whoa!

the pack for it is pretty sweet, i also like the USB charger for it. its all very compact and the packing is very trendy and cool looking. but the big thing is how this little devil performs.

major taste! the menthol flavor taste SO friggin much like a camel crush (my old brand) the ease of draw is amazing. i know people are complaining about how sensitive it is (its very sensitive) but it makes the draw super awesome, you barely inhale and it hits you.

the throat hit is very nice, better than my pilot when it was new (ive had it since march and its working, just not very well, time for new hardware) but to really let it HIT you gotta take a somewhat longer drag, no biggie.

vapor production is awesome. its the same amount of vapor that an analog would produce in smoke.

The atomizer is huge, lol. very pointy, cos it breaks thru the seal in the carts. the band between the battery and the atomizer has four holes, looks like the pilot in that sense, but it also has 2 holes on the atomizer where it screws into the batt. i dont know if thats making the difference or what, but i noticed it.

Its pretty small, the smallest ive tried. its smaller than the mini fogger or the pilot with the short battery.

The pack is genius! I have a tendency of misplacing my e cig (never for very long ;)) and now its just like keeping up with a pack of ciggys. alot easier. everything fits perfectly and you can still store a fully charged battery in the charging slot, just dont screw it in (the case still closes)

Now, comparing it to the m401/402, the 901, and the janty mini fogger... i like the blu better. As far as throat hit, ease of draw, and taste. especially taste. It definitely feels the most like an analog. the pilot laks in the flavor department, and the 901 lacks in the throat hit, the mini fogger is some where in between. but the Blu, in my humble opinion, blows them outta the water.

The battery life is pretty average (1-2 hours heavy vaping), the cart life is pretty good too, i was vaping away last night and its still the same cart this morning and going strong. im kinda antsy to try the other flavor carts i got. i got the java jolt and the vivid vanilla along with the magnificent menthol (its pretty damn magnificent)

My only real complaint is that its sound/wind sensitive. i was hoping it wouldn't be. my pilot is, and i cant go to concerts with it. i was hoping to go out to loud places with this thing, but i dont think thats gonna be any different.

All in all i would def. recommend this to anyone. a newbie or a seasoned vaper.

Its got a year warranty, 30 day money back, and its only 59 bucks. if your thinking about the blu, go ahead and go for it, theyre probably still backed up so youll be in for a wait at the moment... but its worth it.

Later days,

Ro

FYI: The 4 to 6 week delay on web site orders appears to be for Starter Kits only. I placed an order for cartridges (mostly Java Jolt) on 7/31/09 and it shipped today. I agree with everything that you say in your review but have only used the Smokingeverywhere product to compare it with.

I bought these for the cost advantage over the only other I found which was smokingeverywhere. After we got it, we found it didn't requre any special knack for a hit and never spits juice like the smokingeverywhere. The pack is really sweet.

I sell the fiftyone e cig at a local mall and they have come out with a 4th generation battery. This battery and e cig sounds way better than what I've read about blu cigs. There new battery is not one bit sensative the light will not come on unless you drag on it. The switch turns on fast so no primer puff is required it also turns off fast to so improved battery life. I can't belive you think 1 to 2 hours of good vapor are good. My fiftyone battery last about seven hours or more and that's with me smoking on it every hour about 15 to twenty puffs and the vapor production stays the same untill the tip blinks. The throat hit is very good and I'm not crazy about the flavor of the filters but that's what they make liquid for. Overall the fiftyone battery outperforms most of the e cigs I have seen and I do alot of research. Plus my e cig is only a two piece system and on the treads of the battery is a choke hole so you can adjust the draw to your prefrence another big bonus. It may not have a fancy charging pack but that just tells me that the battery doesn't last and I have case for mine and it's not big or bulky and doesn't charge my ecig but mine last all day so there is no need for one. I always tell people you get what you pay for the fiftyone is about 80 dollars more but the cartriges last longer and they can berefilled even though there is a built in atomiZer in every filter. I know you can refill the blu I just want to let people know that you can refill the two piece e cigs and that blu cigs I think are way overrated. Actually my next brand I'm getting is the intellicig evo now there is a quality three piece e cig with batteries that last 8 to 10 hours and atomizers that last for over 12000 puffs

I've got to say that this company has completely killed any chance of repeat business with me.

I ordered my Blu on 6/27, and it is now 8/6 and I've gotten nothing. They never bothered to notify me when their shipping delay suddenly shifted from 5 - 7 business days to over a month. Immediately after purchasing mine I walked around at work and told everyone how cool the thing was, how Blu's have the extremely innovative pack, and how this was going to change our lives (I'm a 2 pack a day smoker.) Atleast 6 people I work with went home that night and ordered their starter kits.

So what happened? They've all since received their kits. Some over a week ago. The response I received from Blu? "It's on it's way." No accounting for the fact that people who ordered their starter kits up to a week later than me received their products so quickly, where as I have gotten nothing.

Of course, they also got to try their Blu's out first, and every single one of them has since moved on to other products, most to White Cloud (they have kiosks in our local malls,) and one has even started whole-selling a brand made by a Tampa-area cigar company.

If I wasn't at day 9 of 10 (I can't help but laugh at that, I don't expect to ever receive this thing,) I would call them and cancel.

I've worked in customer service for the past 10 years. I've worked on every level, from the lowest phone rep, to RMA, to BBB and AG complaints. I've contracted for small countries, and multination corporations that have touched the lives of almost all Americans. I don't get angry with customer service, or companies; I'm extremely understanding about all the issues companies face. Blu has done what no other company has - completely and utterly ...... me off.

Since I can't edit my original post, I just looked at my calendar and it appears today is my 10th day. I believe I'll be opening a BBB complaint. :grr:

Doing the math rather quickly, that's around $442 spent on regular cigarettes from when the product was initially supposed to ship.

Just starting using e-cigs 5 days ago when the Blu starter-kit came in (took 8-9 days to get here) and I'm assuming that because this is the first e-cig I've ever used, my opinion isn't worth much, but this is what I think of it

I like the Blu. I'm not dissatisfied with it. The vapor inconsistency, the maintenance required for the atomizer, and the amount of drags you can get out of one cartridge are my only issues with it. My friend started using e-cigs the same time I did and he has already ruined an atomizer (5 days after receiving it) but I've learned to use it fairly easily and have gotten used to what to expect from it.

But like I said, I may have just not experienced the best of the e-cigs that are available.

WOW. So much negativity here that I'm starting to think I must have gotten the Magic Blu Kit that actually works.

There's really nothing in the OP's review that I disagree with. I get very nice vapor production, and yes, the battery life is awful, but the PCC makes that irrelevant for me. It takes maybe ten seconds to swap batteries and by the time the second battery dies, the first is charged again. I'm not exactly a heavy vaper (I certainly WOULDN'T recommend blu to a heavy vaper), but in a month I've yet to find that I couldn't vape because both batteries were dead.

Also, the PCC seems much more functional to me than, say, the 510 PCC that's out there (I have one on order from Innovapor), because blu's actually stores a fully-assembled e-cig. It's very easy to get the cig from the closed pack to my mouth one-handed. With the 510, I assume I'm going to have to pull out a battery and an atomizer and screw them together every time I open the PCC, which I suspect I'll find annoying.

THAT SAID, I don't trust blu's cartridges; I don't trust the quality control, I don't trust that what they say is in the carts is really in there. I vaped what was supposed to be a Classic Tobacco zero-nic cart and I'm pretty sure it was at least a "low," very possibly higher. My solution? I just empty the carts and refill them with Johnson Creek juice, which I do trust. There are no caps, because the original carts are foil-sealed, but it's not a problem; I just cap them with extra atomizers. (I bought four more atomizers for $19.90 shipped.) Carts with atomizers attached fit perfectly well in the blu pack, and I've had zero leaking. When a cart runs dry, I either top off with a 3 ml dropper bottle or just unscrew the whole atty-and-cart assembly and screw on another one. It works like a charm. So my PCC contains a fully-assembled e-cig, a fully-charged extra battery, and five more sorta-cartomizers filled with five different flavors. And vapor production is great, probably way better than with the pre-filled foil-capped carts, because there's no foil in the way of the atty wick.

I haven't had any trouble with the equipment (yet). Like I said, I bought four more atomizers to keep plugged into refilled carts, but the original two are still going strong. I only really cleaned them once, by boiling in distilled water, after I had been dipping in lots of different VG-plus-flavoring combos, including some very dark mixes. Two days ago I dropped my cig hard on the floor and the battery kept misfiring, so I unscrewed it and ordered a new pair of batteries, but later that night I cautiously tried the battery again, and it seemed okay again. (I'm thinking that maybe I knocked some fluid through the atty hole into the battery, and it was causing a temporary short?) I've been keeping a careful eye on it for the past two days, but it's been back to its old self. I still want the extra batteries, because I'm a klutz and WILL kill one by dropping it eventually-- I've dropped these things at least six or eight times, usually on pavement, and apparently so far without permanent damage.

The automatic battery is sensitive, but I don't find it too sensitive. Haven't had any trouble with the wind yet. And I've brought the pack into VERY loud shows, three times now I think, and kept checking the batteries, because I was told that loud noise would be a problem, but they never triggered once, even when I was right up by the amps.

So overall, I'm really happy with my purchase. $60 for two batteries, two atomizers, 25 refillable carts, a USB charger, a wall charger, and the best PCC I've yet seen. $20 for four more atomizers. $20 for two more batteries. So far, no regrets.

But I've got a 510 on the way and may change my mind right quick. ;)

Posted in a different forum... I don't know if i am supposed to link or repost. Again, thanks to the mods. I am a forum noob

e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/blu-electronic-cigarettes/21247-how-long-take-you-get-blu-30.html#post486890

"Ok, so here it goes. Blu has come around some of the clubs here in Charlotte, and I just happened to be one of the lucky people that got to take a complete box home to try (I have already passed it on to a friend to try since he is trying to quit smoking). I will share with you my unbiased observations after a little background...

First, I did research and wanted the Intellicig EVO. At the last minute I switched to wanting BLU since they are in Charlotte and I thought i would get one next day. RIIIIGHT... Cancelled my order and bought a 510 and EVO from Innovapor. Got it 2 days later. Have been vaping the EVO and 510 for a month using ECOPURE low in all flavors for just over a month.

So in comes the BLU. Great packaging! sure looks like you are buying the BMW of egics. So i get right into the box. The PCC is nice, so i start charging it. The cartridges are weird. They have a foil layer over the top with cellophane underneath, so it is tricky to get the mesh on the atomizer into the juice. when it does, wham! Throat hit! It could be because it is medium nic, and i have only ever vaped on low. Not much vapor production though, but it really feels like a cig. The atomizer probably needs to burn off the primer. This ecig is really light weight and feels normal in your hand. I might end up keeping this thing, so lets push it for a couple days and see whats up.

End result... Dissappointment. Here is why.
First of all, this thing is SENSITIVE! I mean like REALLY sensitive. I couldnt drive home with the A/C on because everytime my hand passed by a vent in my car, the thing would turn on. The first battery died before I got home.

So i attacked it properly the next day. charged everything up, did some atomizer dripping, took apart the cart and did a refill with some ECOPURE Rich. The cartridge is really small. I already know i am going to be refilling all the time. So i use it all day. End up refilling like 5 or 6 times, and go through 4 batteries. For reference, i use 1.5 batteries and only 2 refills on the EVO. The throat hit and vapor production with ecopure is the same as my 510. Here is another problem. At one point, I had to run into a place and run back out and the BLU almost burned my jeans (and my leg). No 5 second shutoff which would be a HUGE advantage for such a sensitive device.

At the end of day 1, i went home to charge the PCC and a battery at the same time. The main wall charger is already broken. I have to use one that i have for my other pvs. As i am thinking about it, the PCC is a pain. I carry a small memory card case with my usb charger, spare batt and juice for my EVO, and i can be gone all day. Who needs a PCC when you have long battery and cartridge life, right? Oh, and the flavors don't hit like the Ecopure...

So I use it for another day before i realize I don't want it and come to this conclusion. The BLU is only good if you leave it at home. May make a nice cig in the morning with coffee or something, but it is too much of a hassle to take out of the house. So here would be my day if I wanted to keep the BLU along with my EVO and 510.

BLU - Morning smoke. Oh, and you have to unscrew the batteries at night or it will be dead in the morning. Lame. Quick puff on the 510 from last night while i change to the fresh batt.
EVO - Hit the road baby and travel light! This thing will take it all day.
510 - Time to go spin some records... The vibration in the dj booth already puts a jingle in your pocket and the EVO can handle it pretty well, but the 510 really shines here.

Then i thought about it. since the battery on the 510 lasts all night (even if i dont unscrew it), i might as well use it in the morning since the hit is the same as BLU. HMM... I don't think I even need the BLU. One less device makes it easier to remember which device is charged and freshly filled with Ecopure. I think i know someone who could use this to save some cash to buy an EVO. Lemme make a call...

...mods, please move this to the proper thread if it seems out of place here..."

Oh and the Entire "Review" by TRS1988 "the oh so cool emo guy i just really wanna be" made me sick !!! How blatantly Biased was THAT? God they didnt even try for a subtle marketing approach!

Hey guys I dont work for Blu or nothin but whoa broster shizzle this Blu Cig is so AWESOME it could potentially END CHILD HUNGER !!! I mean not only does it produce Vapor bigger to a Billy .... Thornton and out performs every single other e cig related product on the planet and other planets but DUDE it gets you HOT MICRO BIKINI GIRLS WITH TRILLIONS OF THAT CHEDDA. Buy NOW for only 59 bucks Peace, RO

Amplexor
I agree with you sounds like a marketing ploy to me. They blu company does not even have a link here. As I said before this is just free adversing for them on this forum, (Buy Now for only 59 bucks) please thats what they always sold for. It sounds to me like he does work for blu.

And to make matters worse lies, lies, lies (out performs every single ecig related product on the planet and other planets) So would you think it would perform better then a penstyle? the screwdriver? The janty stick? ( know the last two are mods) but just saying the ridicilious proganda about makes me sick:evil:

Gotta say, we are talking about two different Blu's. Mine is junk. No vapor, metallic taste, short battery life and only used in emergencies. Draw is not even close to a real cig. Cool packaging and slick marketing. Pathetic performance.

Can't answer as to the metallic taste-- haven't had any trouble with that. But I've had very good vapor production with the right liquids, considering the size of the device. I assume you'll always get more vapor from a device with a bigger, higher-voltage battery, and battery life would be a problem if the PCC didn't charge the extra battery faster than I drain the first one.

I'm the first to agree that the blu definitely isn't for everyone. Heavy smokers who absolutely need tons of vapor and throat hit are not going to be satisfied with less than probably a 510 or something, preferably on a pass-through. But for an 88 mm e-cig with a well-done PCC, I still say the blu can be a good value for lighter smokers who like/can get used to the light draw. (Especially if they're willing to learn how to refill carts for better performance.)
