That's exactly why I offered up some suggestions to make their experience a bit better.
I think I saw this information before, I find it interesting how one can arbitrarily pull such figures out of the air.
Here's one for you...
This forum has about 30,000 members (active/inactive) of those, 29,999 hate blu (I'm the rare exception).
Since introduction, blu has sold over 100,000 units (posted on their website). So then I should be able to safely say 2 out of 3 PV users prefer blu...
Yes, I realize that's absurd, however... you get my point.![]()
When putting on a new cart, DO NOT spin it around 180 degrees to get rid of the foil. Do as blu's video says and turn the cart about a quarter turn. Too much spinning causes damage to the atty mesh; once the mesh is damaged the atty is useless.
DO NOT pull the cart off immediately to tear off the foil. Under the foil is a "plastic wrap" material that surrounds the atty to prevent leakage. Only clear off the foil if you feel the liquid flow is restricted by it. (Youll know).
When puffing on the e-cig, wrap your index finger around the brass ring (where the atty and battery connect), use your thumb on the underside to complete the circle around the e-cig... The objective is to decrease (not eliminate) the airflow and make the vapor thicker. Some have said this causes the atty to overheat, but that can only happen if you're vaping constantly.
Use the Thermometer trick, shake the e-cig like a thermometer to force the liquid from the back of the cart to the atty. (this will work with almost any cartridge model e-cig). Be careful not to have the battery fly across the room when you do this; also, don't shake it so much that liquid goes into the battery.
Good Luck!
This thing looked so cool. I hadn't even heard of electronic cigarettes or 'vaping' six months ago, so when I saw Blu, I was dazzled.
Smooth, sleek black body, shiny blue LED on the end, smokers (or ex-smokers?) producing full-bodied vapor with a delicious flavor, but none of the nasty smells, and a significant reduction in the number of chemical intake...
Yeah, this was for me.
But when I decided to order it... it took nearly three weeks to arrive. Two weeks was waiting for them to ship it, and then they used the cheapest mail option (without any option on my end to expedite for additional money). By the time I got it, I'd gone through another carton of cigarettes.
When I got it, I was overjoyed. For all of a day. And then I started doing research. My Blu wasn't working quite as I'd expected. Barely any vapor, and the cartridges didn't last as long as I thought they should. Was I doing something wrong?
Nope. It's just that Blu sucks. So now I'm torn. Do I want to keep this Blu hardware and try the Volcano cartridges, or do I want to pack it all up, send it back and try something else?
TGWTF looks like he's doing what I want to be doing with that nice 510... Should I go for the 510 or maybe another one? What kind of PV will satisfy me? Okay, let's say I go with a manual PV; I know I want to fill my own carts; what flavors should I choose?
So many questions. Let me see if I can boil it down.
- Does anyone have any experience with both Blu and Volcano L88b e-cig systems, and can you tell me if Volcano's carts are of higher quality or if they suck as bad as Blu's?
- (consider that Blu cartridges are still half-full when they stop working, and are almost consistently inconsistent in the amount of vapor they produce)?
- Should I drop the L88b form factor altogether in favor of something bigger like a 510? If I do, I already know I want a manual.
- If I drop the L88b, what PV should I go after? I don't trust my instincts after jumping right for the Blu.
- If I drop the L88b, I'm going to want a good selection of my favorite flavors. Of all the e-liquids you've tried, what's your favorite -
- Clove flavor
- Mint flavor (strong mint, like Marlboro Smooth, not mentolyptus like Marlboro Menthol or Halls)
- Vanilla flavor
- Coffee flavor (not cappuccino)
- Fruit flavor
Started with the Volcano, awesome company and the product worked ok but once I tried the 510 I immediately sold the Volcano. For me, there is no comparison. I don't know much about Blu but they are supposed to be basically the same unit so I can't see how Volcano would help you. Carts don't last long on V either. Try refilling the carts you already have, perhaps.
Look at my post on page 3.
Get a 510, you can still use the blu stuff and read, read, read...cart mods especially.
Carts Volcano & blu about the same I haven't found a prefilled I like other than blu tobacco (Johnson Creek Original)
Attys Slightly different shape Volcano has higher bridge but both work. Less room available for fluid in Volcano because atty sticks in cup farther
Batteries work on both and will power a 510 atty, in fact i bought one 510 atty and a 5 pack of 510 carts, 510 trial on blu/ Volcano batteries for $15.
Then I bought a 510 set.
I now have 5 L88b batteries. 5 510 batteries 9 L88 attys and 5 510 attys.
I like both systems!!!
BTW PTs will work for both but DO NOT CONFUSE THE BATTERY CHARGERS (REVERSED POLARITY)
