So after a month of vaping w/ stock Poly-Fill, I finally bit and bought some of the Marineland Rite-Size U.
I wanted to start simple, and see if all the extra mods that I've been reading about are really necessary. I'm a KISS method kinda guy, and I want the least amount of hassle.
So, based on one modders utube vid, that has the same less is sometimes more outlook to vaping, I just cut out a wad, stuffed it in, filled and vaped.
First impressions:
ejuice is more optimally used, and the wicking is much better than polyfill.
Flavor is diminished somewhat.
Required pull strength increased (That might have been due to the width that I cut).
Filling wasn't as easy as expected, 4 drops and I was already pooling at the top of the cart, hmmmmmm. (This could have been a combination of using a piece too wide, and the juice I used was a combo PG/VG that has a thicker viscosity.
So, on my second cart, I cut a thinner piece, and decided to taper off the foam at the bottom making an inverted "V".
Was able to get a lot more juice into the cart, and the pull required was much more similar to poly-fill carts. Flavor seemed to pick up some also.
I really don't want to mess with straws, springs, clips, plugs, etc. etc. I just want to cut a piece, stuff it, fill it, and vape.
My 510 did fine w/ poly-fill, just didn't like all the juice waste, but the flavor IMO was better.
Going to keep fiddling some, but if the Law of diminishing returns kicks in too early, I'll just buy poly-fill, look at the juice waste as a cost of doing business, and rack it up to I'm still way ahead of the game, as I'm staying 100% away from analogs!
