I would agree with that thread. I've vaped a couple hundred ml of Boba's in genesis attys/hybrids and find the 500 is hands down the winner. I tried 200 and 400 as well but the 500 wicks so much better.

Unfortunately its really hard to compare with so many variables. Heck its hard to make 3 wicks that work the same even with the same sheet of mesh.

But for me with AVE juice its 500 rolled fat with not much material and honking big hole. After the first few hours of break in I never have to tilt past horizontal with either my AC9 or iHybrid mod.

So by this statement, are you making your wicks WITH or WITHOUT a big hole in the center of the wick?

Didn't know if the "not" was pertaining to both the material and the honking big hole. Two ways to perceive the grammar. :) I use the big hole as well for Boba's. I couldn't get the super tight wicks that use almost 100mm of mesh to wick Boba's well enough for me.

messed around with 400 Mesh with Bobas on my new AGA-T and I've tried every type of wicking method and its an utter failure, either it works for a few vapes and then you get dry hits or dryhits all the time; it refuses to wick properly. Bobas is a complex flavor so you know right away if you're not getting all the flavor. Anway, I ordered the mesh the OP posted from McMaster Carr and hope that will turn out better. If not then, then on to the 500 mesh.

Wow, for me 200 mesh wins for every kind of blend in my AC9 and my DID. Great thing is quite inexpensive.

Btw, i have made fat wicks, skinny ones, with a big hole, small hole and i never have to tilt the atty, in fact if i tilt it overflows.

I need to get into these new attys and figure out what the tolerances are. Anyone have a good chart for viscosity to wicking? If not I'll work on one (though it will likely take a few months to vet)

BJ43 has done extensive testing on the wicking properties of SS mesh wicks. His findings are very conclusive. The finer (higher number) the mesh, the better the wicking. The more mesh in a wick, the better the wicking, capillary action.

I use nothing but 500 and 635 and I can vape any juice I have. I never get dry hits and I never have to tilt my device to feed, unless the tank is almost empty.

This whole lower mesh count for thicker liquid is a myth.
